This time I really heard #peteraybiggun on drums doing things Copeland did on record. He grooves!

The Band effort shows here; even the not very well rehearsed gets more interesting live watching them "doing it". I love this tune!

This is a great tune. I prefer Copeland playing drums but his Zappa style vocals are pretty entertaining. I remember Belew playing drums on a couple of King Crimson songs and that worked out pretty well.

To me the Gizmodrome album is the most important album in a few years; the musicians, the rhythms, the lyrics and the vocals.

Right on. I find it great that these old farts can rock better than most bands ever did.

I really "don't know" why I feel so strong about this band/album/live; it's this mix of these guys should not ever play together; this music is too diverse; this music is too tame sounding; or the (to me) idiotic that Stewart "can't sing". It's this "thing" that happen when these guys play together! I did not know of Vittorio Cosma until this band; listen to his wonderful keyboard playing on this album.

Discovered Adrians wonderful rhythm thing around 4:35. Brasilian?

@@HaydnMowbray Yo might be right :-) Listening again, it is african, taken from Paul Simons Graceland album... No, just kidding, although Adrian played on that album too.

This is definitely one of Bills favourite tracks from the Gizmodrome album! Tounge-in -cheek picture, u can see why :-D No really, it's a fiest of groove and lovely in-crowd lyrics! When hearing the marvelous slightly off-beat "heya-heya-heya" on the record I (Bill, ok) thought is was only a "mix-thing" never to be replicated live. Just saying: Mark King!

Haydn, do you know if these guys ever gonna do a live tour ever? Or do we have to treasure these live events that was?
@HaydnMowbray2 жыл бұрын
No idea. There was a lot of pushback from listeners to Copeland singing when Belew and King were in the band and much better singers. But they're Copelands songs and his vehicle so I guess it's his call. I remember Belew saying he was open to doing more. I certainly hope they do but am thankful I got a chance to watch them. I've seen King a couple of times before but I'd wanted to see Belew and Copeland live in some form for decades and they didn't disappoint

@@HaydnMowbray Thanks Haydn! I cought Level 42 at Gothenburg summer 2018 and wore a Gizmodrome T; at end bow Pete Ray Biggin recognized it and pointed it out for Mark and they both did a small dance and did thumbs up! It was hilarious and also a great thank you!

Contrary, I really think he makes the lyrics come thru, and true. Like Frank Zappa did.
