Charice is one of my all-time favorites. It’s hard to find someone to beat her act in my opinion, especially when you’ve been following her since she was very young and belting like the powerhouse she became. This and her “All by myself” rendition I find it so difficult to match or do better. She still gives me goosebumps after all these years. Suggest the “All by myself” with David Foster. It was Sam Concepcion who beat her. The contest was looking for a complete package and Sam was it. He sounds great as well, writes his own songs, dances and can act. He's still in the business now. Charice was destined for greater audience, too bad she turned her back to her success then. But I guess she's happier now as Jake Zyrus.

someone posted a video of Jake Zyrus (whom Charice has transitioned to) recently, saying he chose to not take the hormones he usually takes. the effect on his voice is that he got that voice back. but, honestly, more than the voice, what i noticed was how his rendition has become even more emotional. he's older and has gone through way more of life's challenges and you'd definitely see and hear those emotions and development in his singing.
