Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff must have had a special fondness for the number two. The Piano Sonata, Piano Concerto, Symphony, Prelude, and Elegiac Trio marked with that number are all true masterpieces. Thanks to Maestro Nikolai Lugansky for his outstanding interpretation.

He tackles the impossible part at 12:40 at least as well as Horowitz.....BRAVO from Acapulco!

I have played this movement and am curious what exactly you mean. It is hard and certainly way harder than it sounds, but not comparable with what comes afterwards in this movement. Do you mean that the octaves are actually meant to be played at the same time? Because that is definitely impossible. I really do not know, because I learned it by ear and not with the score.

Был на этом концерте вживую. Луганский, конечно, поражает воображение своей невероятной игрой. Он будто передаёт всё, что Рахманинов вложил в свою музыку

Lugansky keeps great parts of the original version such as the development section of the second movement. Also 20:27 - 21:33
