This is exquisite! You could spend a lifetime there, by the looks of it, and choose a different mountain every day. Lovely shots of the wild flowers too. Thanks Matt from uk. 💕👍

We did Cracker Lake that day, and Highline-Swiftcurrent Lookout-down Swiftcurrent Pass on August 2nd. I'm surprised your hat stayed on as long as it did! 😉🌬😳 You're a brave man doing that climb alone. Definitely enjoy watching! 👍👏 Did 72 miles in 7 days --including two summits-- (Oberlin and Swiftcurrent) but skipped Siyeh last summer. 😏 Too hot (approaching 90 degrees on that south facing slope) and too sore after 19 miles --no boat-- on Dawson-Pitamakan two days before. Did everything else we had planned. Love Glacier!

I try to keep my hat on as long as possible these days, not a lot of protection up there from the sun 🤣... I'm glad you enjoyed this video! Sounds like you can't get enough of Glacier as well 👍🏼 that's pretty sweet that you were there during the same time as us! I'm actually targeting Glacier again in September, if the weather holds🤞🏼 cheers!

Nicely done as always, my friend. Nothing like a little offroading to cut off some mileage. Views at the top...wow! Hiking season can't come soon enough.

Awesome hike Matt! A part of the park most people including myself don't get to often enough. Have you figured out how much extra distance you cover when shooting your videos and setting the camera up, backtracking, walking through the shot, repeat?🚶 Thanks for the videos, they are very well done.

Hey Matt! Entirely unrelated to this hike (this just happens to be the most recent video I watched 😂), but my wife and I are going to Banff/Canmore here in a few months and are planning our hikes out. I’d love to record our hikes but not use only an iPhone or drop a few hundred on a GoPro camera or something. Any recommendations for a decent and cheap camera that would do the trick?

If you have an IPhone 12 or newer and have enough storage I’d just use that. The newer IPhone cameras are better than any cheaper low end camera out there. GoPros are good but they’re getting so expensive. Maybe you’re due for a new phone before your trip 😉 have a a blast Bennett, Banff looks ridiculous! Cheers!

Another awesome video sir! What time did you take that morning ferry? I'm heading to Glacier this summer (earlier in June) and I am just assuming Going to the sun road will be closed and am trying to rough schedule some day hikes like this one to Cobalt lake. I would push for harder stuff but the kiddos are 6 & 7 so 5-7 miles in a day is their max. Thank you sir!

Train them young 👍🏼 I believe we purchased ferry tickets a day or two ahead just to make sure we got them. They have a good website to purchase. Pretty sure they open at around 7am to purchase at the lake ... I could be wrong. Best bet would be to try to get them online when you know you'll be going. You'll love it!

@@TheMountainMatt awesome - thanks for the recommendation! I couldn't agree more with starting them early. My daughter (the 7 y/o) is my little mountain goat. We were in the Smokies in the fall and the smile on her face 4 miles in and 1500' up was contagious. My wife kept saying she was obviously in her happy place. She sets a great pace for all 4 of us to boot.. Keep up the great videos sir!

I will be in Glacier the week after Labor Day with a group of experienced hikers. We summit class 3 and class 4 peaks in Vegas regularly. Our goal is to tackle some peaks there. Have Siyeh and Iceberg Peaks on my list. What are your favorite/epic peaks in Glacier? Btw, I reciprocate if you ever come to Vegas 😉
@TheMountainMatt
@TheMountainMatt 9 ай бұрын
Definitely do Siyeh and Iceberg! Those are sick! Sinopah or Flinsch in the Two Med area. Sinopah is short but sweet. Flinsch is a full day. Grinnell Mountain is a slog but amazing. Reynolds up at Login Pass is a great half day as well. Never ending adventures in Glacier me boy! Cheers!

@@TheMountainMatt awesome! I'm looking at trying the Goat Trail on Pinnacle walk to Iceberg.. then either down Iceberg notch or head down swiftcurrent pass.. do you know anyone with gpx beta for that
@TheMountainMatt

Unfortunately I don't. The research I've done on the notch section sounds like it's only class 3-4, if that helps you. Try using FATMAP app. It has great layer options to help create your own routes. I use it on all my adventures. It is usually very accurate.
