Glacier Peak Climb - Single Push

Hello everyone! In this video, we summit Glacier Peak in a single day push. To keep our packs extremely light, we opted to bypass the Glacier via Disappointment Peak. Though, this allowed us to be light. Going directly up the spine of Disappointment was extremely loose and not super enjoyable. Some beta recommends hanging left around Disappointment Peak. I climbed this in 2022 at age 66. Amazing experience but a very tough climb. It threw everything at us, heat and cold, fast water crossings in the dark and rock climbing. Very thick fog at White Pass. Some navigation at night. A big freakin 'shrund between the Suiattle and Cool glaciers at about 9,000'. Crossed a steep, icy snow bridge twice. Wouldn't trade the experience for anything! Also my last Washington volcano.

I did this in 2 days back in early August and we were completely wasted by the time we got back to the car. Savage dude.

Just hiked the PCT and found out about glacier peak because of that. Such a beautiful area. Definitely wondered if people climb the mountain much and then this popped up on my page. Nice vid! I also found the music to be fine

what is your go to source for Beta on a route like this?

Several places actually. Summit post for route descriptions. PeakBagger for GPX tracks. Social media pages for recent route conditions and up to date beta. Such as PNW peak baggers on Facebook. Depending on the route, (not this one) apps such as AllTrails often have recent trip reports as well as GPX tracks.

the background music ruins the mood. music isn't something that can just be added with 10 minutes of thought put into it and have an effective outcome. I would argue having none at all is better then doing it poorly.
