Glacier Viewing Day! | 7-Night Disney Alaska Wonder Cruise Vlog 4 | 25th Disney Cruise Line 2023

Join us as we sail through Tracy Arm to South Sawyer Glacier during our 7-night cruise aboard the Disney Wonder out of Vancouver, CA to the South Sawyer Glacier, Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan, Alaska!
It's Glacier Viewing day! Before we even get there, though, we got ready to an amazing sight - whales! After a morning of whales galore, we head up to the top deck to take in the magnificent beauty of Tracy Arm on our way to South Sawyer Glacier. Not only are the sights breathtaking, but we also have the added fun of Disney friends in their Alaska costumes! It truly makes for an unforgettable day.
Once we see the glacier and make our way out of Tracy Arm, we head down to our stateroom for snacks and relaxation before we head back up once more for Freezing the Night Away! Since fireworks aren't allowed up in Alaska, we have this awesome show with our Frozen friends instead. Once the show is done, we head down to Triton's for our first main dining room meal where we celebrate our anniversary with our awesome serving team! Then it's time to head back to our stateroom to wind down and get ready for tomorrow - but not before even MORE whale sightings!
For the next video, we'll be in Swagway doing the White Pass Railway and some hiking! We have a bunch of fun adventures and excursions coming up over the next few port days, so be sure to subscribe if you'd like to wend and wander along with us!

I am enjoying your videos. Years ago my husband and I did an Alaska cruise on a different cruise line. We live North of Vancouver BC so luckily we didn’t have to fly to get to the cruise ship area. This summer we are going to cruise to Alaska on the Disney Wonder. We are going to take our 2 sons and their family. So we will be 6 adults and four kids. My husband and I have a balcony. Our first cruise we had an inside cabin so we are looking forward to having a balcony. Your hats were great we call them toques. Our first cruise to Alaska during the summer I brought a toque. I assumed it would be cold. Last summer my husband and I went to Vancouver Island and parked our Motor Home at the RV site in Brown’s Bay . Brown’s Bay is on the inside passage where cruise ships go through so we were able to see the Disney Wonder when it went by. When our 2 sons were younger we traveled to Disneyland . Then a few years after Disneyland we traveled in our Motor Home to Disney World so I’m looking forward to seeing the excitement on our grandchildren faces.

I was on this cruise, my first time doing Alaska and a back to back; was on the Pacific Coast repositioning. Zach and Cory were a bit famous on this cruise because they were doing a back to back to back cruise. (Mexico/baja, Pacific Coast and Alaska).

Ok. I only discovered you guys a few nights ago but I’m officially obsessed. I’m planning to go on this cruise in a year and I love that you guys are planning almost the exact same excursions😂. I appreciate that you show the menus and the honest opinions. Why do the Disney cruises always make the pork so dry? The dishes would be sooo good. I’ve sailed several times but only to the Bahamas. And only recently discovered fish extenders. So I’m trying to figure out how to get them all the way to Canada 😅. But now I’m going to binge some of your other videos because you have amazing advice and so much fun. I love the game at night!!! Thank you!😊

We agree!! We will say, the nature specialist they have on board the ship on day 3 does call out any wildlife they see (as well as many other things), but it would still be nice to know throughout the whole cruise!

Thank you so much for tuning in! This cruise was in early-mid May (the first one of the season last year) 😊. We've read that generally the later cruises (especially September) have better chances of seeing wildlife, but we felt very lucky with how much we saw, so it's truly a luck of the draw! As for character lines, it's hard for us to say since we aren't morning people and weren't up early enough to know 😅 but we'd say that people will start lining up pretty early (30+ min), especially for glacier day where the characters are out on deck in their special outfits!

I have questions. Looking at booking last minute the Wonder this summer. I have heard you can not get the all the Alaska costumed characters and do the glacier cruise. I am a character person and would be disappointed to not get a picture of all 5. But the photo of the ship on the water from the glacier tour is a must as it am a photo grapher. Are the characters out only on glacier day in Alaska outfits? No other days?

We saw the characters in their Alaska outfits on at least one other day during the cruise - the glacier day is special though since it's the only time they're outside in those costumes with all that beautiful scenery in the backdrop. If you get up early enough, we've heard it is possible to see the characters and do the glacier tour - you'll just need to make sure you have it all planned out ahead of time!

Could you please tell us when in the year you went on this cruise??? Was it September? I've seen like nightmare weather where it's raining all the time, and excursions are cancelled and walking around is a pain, etc...

We went in early May - it was actually the first Alaska cruise of the season last year for Disney! It was overcast and slightly rainy at times, but we had a lot of sunshine as well and it was really beautiful. We can imagine if it’s raining the whole time it could be difficult to do much, but we hear that May - July is relatively good weather.
