The main reason for churn is simple. 10 episode seasons. When you had 23 to 24 episode seasons you were locked in for 6 months and then something else would start and you dont leave.

I’ve been saying this forever. Every time I hear that streaming shows being cancelled based on the number of new subscribers it pulls in, I would immediately bring up customer retention. Cell phone providers have entire departments dedicated to this. If you have a hit show, keep people coming back for it.

you can get away with an american accent if its a deeply serious and focused, character driven performance. You can't do an urban american accent in a Roman movie though. I'm actually shocked that Denzel went with that. I always knew he could not do period characters, but I really hoped he would give it a genuine try in this. Like, tone down the "Denzel" and do something nuanced. What he's doing here is going to destroy the movie no matter what else is put on screen. And I've never said that about Denzel ever before.

Here's a little movie trivia for ya! Since you were talking about the same song being used for "Gladiator II" as they did for "Safehouse" with Denzel being in both films. The main song they used in the first "Gladiator" which is called "Now We Are Free" with the woman singing in it. Tony Scott, Ridley Scott's brother stole or barrowed it from his brother Ridley. The movie he used it for was starring. Who else? Denzel Washington in "Man on Fire" Which came out 4 years later in 2004. Go back and watch "Man on Fire" It's the main song in that picture. Food for thought!

Not a bad trailer ,a few things threw me off tho ,number 1, it doesn’t matter how stacked the movie is with huge movie stars if the most important character which is Maximus son doesn’t move me or doesn’t make me believe his character then the supporting cast can’t save you . Number 2. I agree the music was bad , then 3. This might be a reach lol , but something about Denzel laughing and giving someone a dap looked way too modern day for me and didn’t look like it belong in the movie .but other than that he was great in the trailer . Just my opinion.

Yea this is beyond mid compared to the og gladiator. I feel like if they had Denzel act the way he did in The tragedy of mcbeth remake, it would've fit this character better that he's playing. Told my wife this yesterday, & i've been feeling this for a few Episodes already.... My prediction for the Final Episode is Damon (obviously) gets that MONSTER Dragon out of the Cave he was singing too, Damon Faces off against Aemond & his MONSTER Dragon Vhagar. There ends up being a MONSTER DRAGON fight between them that somehow ends up behind the NORTH ICE Wall, Damon's "CAVE" Dragon Kills Aemond's Dragon Vhagar, Aemond goes down with his Dragon BEHIND the NORTHERN ICE WALL, AEMOND & Vhagar BOTH Turn into the UNDEAD, Vhagar Turns into an ICE DRAGON THEN AEMOND ends up becoming the ICE KING, Damon becomes King of the SOUTH!!!!😃NEVER read the BOOKS, PLEASE no Responses referencing the Books from those who have. I saw Horizon in theatres. Honestly, I went mainly to see when it looked like it would fail. It was a nice story, but yeah, it's a condensed TV show. It would have been much better as a spin-off of the Yellowstone series on Streaming.

I think certain period pieces can have modern music in it and it works such as putting out the fire with gasoline for Inglorious Bastards and peaky blinders. But it just seems out of place for gladiator. But as long as it doesn't take you out of the movie I'm ok with it. I guess we'll see.

churning = viewer's allotted time for TV watching, IMO. People are going to use what time they have to watch TV, watching the "best" shows, or the ones they like. Sooo there's no way to compensate for this really in my opinon. Unless your studio is so badass all you do is pump out #1 shows.

I'm honestly shocked at the outpour of hatred towards the music. I'm not even saying you aren't allowed to dislike the genre or its inclusion in the trailer - it's not for everyone - but thematically the song fits and the actual movie score is going to be composed by Hans Zimmer, and will not contain any actual Kanye West or modern rap! It's not nearly as big a deal as people are making it out to be.

I don't want to be abrupt in my criticism. A few things I don't understand. Why is this woman in the movie, from the first one? Why has her son been changed in the flashbacks? Why does the main actor, not look like he is emoting Rage and Fury very realistically, or more savagely? Why did they show us Pedro Pascal Dying in the Final Frame? And finally, why is the trailer so long? Denzel looks like he is having a really good time, which has me hopeful. I don't know If I am going to like this, similar to Napolean. We shall see. Fede Alvarez, the director of Alien Romulus edited and created every frame of his recent trailer. ( As an aside.)

I also had that question about the young actor playing Connie's son. I believe they wanted to shoot new scenes with the son character that are flashbacks instead of inserting scenes of him from the first Gladiator film so they had to recast for this reason since the previous actor is a grown man now.

The only streaming service bundle we haven't got yet is Paramount+ & Amazon Prime. If they could include Starz (Outlander), Showtime (Dexter), MGM+ (Star-Gate) and some sports content as well it might be worth it. As far as Horizon goes I won't be surprised if Peacock (Universal) calls up Kevin Costner when he's broke to see if they can get him involved in a Waterworld TV series. Let him executive produce, he's still a big name and they need big brand name fantasy IP for their streaming service. That Gladiator 2 trailer was terrible, too long, corny line delivery from amazing veteran actors. The contemporary modern hip-hop & rap music does not feel like it belongs in a "sword & sandals" movie. It broke my immersion and took me completely out of the trailer.
