Interesting they allowed a substitute for the eliminator. In the Australian and UK versions, the injured contender didn’t get replaced if they got injured in the event before the eliminator and the other contender had to run the Eliminator solo. Probably the most famous example of this was the season 3 Final of the Australian version.

Bruce, this is very interesting because in Australia and UK because the contenders normally don't have a replacement in the Eliminator. 😊

Fresh legs is why substituting is not allowed during the eliminator (except in series 9 and 10 in the UK) so the remaining contender has to run against the clock in that regard.

I like this eliminator over the classic US one. Balance beam at the end makes it that much more of a challenge.

Cyril Mitchley and Mike Whitney are the only gladiators referees to play Cricket

I think the UK Atlaspheres format is better - more exciting.

@coordinator3039 thats true. In series 5 of the UK version(gladiators the challenge) Michelle Kimberley did the same

What was the next challenge for Michael. There is no Springbok Challenge 3 so what was it called?

Michael used the wrong side on the balancing bean, considering he was in front

This Atlasphere format seems to borrow from the 2nd Pendulum format. Honestly, it's not bad here, but I like it better on Pendulum.

i'm a bit torn regarding the south african take on atlasphere(s). not sure if i like it compared to what we in the US and those in the UK were used to. on the other hand, i don't hate it. hrm.

not being allowed to touch the platform after the travellator is a rule that´s incredibly stupid
@magicalsenshi86854 жыл бұрын
Maria touched the static part of the Travelator on the side, just slightly before she got to the top, which is against the rules in most versions, as this would give contenders an unfair advantage, although it's likely that Maria didn't do this intentionally, unlike Michelle Kimberley in UK Series 5 Northern Heat 3 and Michelle Perrone (Army A) in the Australian Army Vs Navy Grand Final. While Michelle Kimberley had to go back to the beginning of the Balance Beam with her opponent and restart from there (Michelle Kimberley ended up winning her heat), Michelle Perrone had to slide down from the Travelator, and as a result, Candice Cushway (Army B) overtook her, resulting in Army B winning the Final, and Army A being the runners-up. Although I think the referee was showing his bias in the men's Eliminator, when he completely shrugged off Michael taking the nearest Zipline and nearest Balance Beam, when he should've taken the furthest of these two obstacles.

@@magicalsenshi8685 thats the only version i know of that has that rule
@magicalsenshi86854 жыл бұрын
@@FabianPyka Well, the UK and Australian series have that rule too, although Australia didn't have this rule until their third season (I've see contenders touch the static part of the Travelator in the first Australian season without getting penalised, and it seems that it may have happened once in the second season, although the on-screen timer have just covered it over).
