"Come on Pips!" My favourite part is where she paused and broke out into a chuckle. It's amazing how she sings this song everytime like she was singing it for the first time.

GLADYS KNIGHT The Queen of soul ❤
@lindabrown20904 жыл бұрын
No, there will never be another crowned the Queen of Soul, that title was given to Aretha Franklin, and she earned that title rightfully so. When you hear anybody talking about “ The Queen Of Soul” Aretha Franklin will always come to your mind. Now Gladys Knight was crowned the “ Empress of Soul” she wears her crowned nickname well also. Diana Ross was given her nickname as the “Boss” Aretha will always be known as the Queen because she broke down barriers for all female Artist, it was really a “Man’s World in the Music Industry” her and Gladys both started singing when they were very young, but Aretha took her Craft where no young female had ever done before. She won 18 Grammy’s Lifetime Achievement Awards, Presidential Award, first Female Artist to be inducted in the Rock& Roll Hall of Fame, sung foe Queens, Kings and evening the Pope and many other awards for singing. She was also a light weight Actress ( Blues Brothers) the Woman was and always will be Internationally and National known as the “ Queen Of Soul” oh yeah she also sung for Presidents inaugurations, Clinton’s and Obama’s. So believe me she earned her Title" but Gladys has earned hers also. They both. Are the Best at what they do. I enjoy both of their Music, both of them are outstanding Soul Singers.

This is the Empress Of Soul signature song. Nobody sings “ Midnight Train To Georgia” like her. Cissy Houston sung it, Aretha Franklin sung it, but like I said NOBODY could sing it like Gladys Knight.🎤🎶🎵🎼
@rexfrommn33164 жыл бұрын
Here is what I think this song means to me. Martin Luther King's last speech in Memphis in 1968 warned his followers that he had been to the mountain top as a servant of the Lord. He said he may not get to the promised land with his people but his people will get to the promised land someday. It was like KIng knew he would be taken from his people. Yet, he knew his struggle to create a better world of equality for black people and all other oppressed peoples would out live him. "I would rather live in his world with him than without him in mine." This line seems to sum up what King's lifetime of work meant to his followers. The Midnight Train to Georgia is King's final trip home to his resting place in Georgia to receive his reward to be with the Lord. This song speaks to the real struggles of black people to live and hope for a more just world. The men who try to do good things for others, like King and Medgar Evers, get struck down early on a Midnight Train to Georgia or Mississipppi. We still struggle against the dark forces of hatred today in this country. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJi5o5-ua52pY5I
