You are truly a blessing! Ive been out of school 3yrs and I waited til this year to go ahead and get licensed and thanks to you I am now a licensed cosmetologist!!! Passed my practical yesterday with a 91%!!!! Watching all of your videos for 2 weeks straight has helped me tremendously even though Texas testing has the lash service added I’m in Tennessee and we aren’t required to do that portion but everything else was pretty much the same!!!! Thanks to you and following exactly each video of yours from start to finish and prepping my bags exactly how you shared on video made me pass my exam today with a score of 86 % missed 2 points in each service got nervous forgot to add protective cream on my Chemical service or didn't change my draping but I'm glad it's out of the way now.

My test required one eyebrow with soft wax and one with hard wax. They pictured playdoh for the hard wax but that is hard to practice with any recommendations?

Yes playdoh would be hard to use since it doesn’t spread easy, we’ve always used Vaseline for this section. Sorry can’t think of anything else 😕

Hi, this is the first video i’ve watched but we were taught to put germ x every single time we throw something away and in this video you didn’t sanitize.. i just wanted to know if you just forgot or we don’t actually santize every single time?😊

The video is far from perfect , continue to do it the way your instructor showed you, But yes sanitizing after throwing anything in the trash is what my students do the more you sanitize your hands in between steps the better even if you are wearing gloves 😊

Can we throw used items in the trash with our gloves on, or do we leave them on the table until the end of the service and then throw everything in the trash? Thank you!

You can throw items into trash with your gloves and than sanitize your hands it’s best to disposed of trash as you go to avoid having it on the station just remember to sanitize your hands every time you throw something out.

hello, should I use the same cape that I use for waxing for the other sections besides the haircut?

Our students use the same cape for eyelash, facial and waxing. They than change the cape into a Haircutting cape with neck strip for the haircut section. Followed by changing into towel cape towel for the chemical service, permanent wave , blowdry etc. For those sections they only change the top towel, but keep the same towel that’s underneath the cape. Hope that helps. Also when in doubt you can change capes for each section if you prefer. Some students use disposable capes , it’s really up to you, as long as you are draping and making sure nothing is soiled.

You also have the option of keeping it on the mannequin and only changing the top towels once the new section starts

You can keep the same cape for facial and waxing service. You will than change it to a hair cutting cape, after the haircut into a chemical cape which you can than leave for the rest of the test, you can simply change the top towel in between each section hope this helps . Remember they are removing eyelash strip application on September 1st 2023 and forward.

As long as it’s not bigger than 30x30 I don’t see why not (be sure you label the outside of the case)

I have a facial mannequin to use for facial services. When I am complete with this service do I switch out mannequin before or after i start the next service. Would i switch my mannequin before i raise my hand for the finish? or as soon as i begin the next service?

If I were you i would switch mannequin once they say you may begin for the next section . First time hearing someone take a different mannequin for the facial part .

You can as long as it’s not soiled or you can change after each section. What you do change is the towel

Hi The wax strips I cut myself from a non-woven wax roll. You can use any small jar, usually travel section of any store 😊

Hi there! I take my practical test in a month and have been out of school a couple of years, could you do a video on how to do the original haircut that was required or any haircut that would be acceptable now?

Please look at the haircut practical video i have out to help you, but yes you can now do which ever layered haircut you would like but you still have to incorporate the razor, so my advice would be to start off by doing your perimeter (guide) with a razor and than go into your layer either doing the 90degree cut or a 180 up to you good luck!! ❤️

You should sanitize your hands before and after , also you will not be getting anything else from that same bag that you put back for another section of the test. Also you have the option of throwing everything in your trash bag. Do as you have been trained by your instructor.
