Ocean Makeup tutorial | NYX Face Awards 2015 Top 30

Aye zombaes! This is my submission for the top 30 challenge of the 2015 NYX Face Awards! To vote for me you can go to www.nyxfaceawards.com and vote 3 times every day using your email address.

The theme was "Timeless Beauty" and rather than do some more recent beauty icons, I decided to travel back in time to an icon where I could do my own makeup interpretation.
Aphrodite, the greek goddess of beauty and love, was born and risen from sea foam. And nature in general is pretty freakin' beautiful and timeless if you ask me, so I thought what better representation of Timeless Beauty than to do a nature and greek goddess inspired look. I kept this look in the realm of beauty and avant garde makeup to stick to the theme of timeless BEAUTY, but don't worry- I'll have some gorey tricks up my sleeve if we make it to future rounds!

I love the way mykie used appropriate music and really thought about the topic. Glitter forever 17 just put bright ass pink blush on her eyes, purple lipstick on, and made it to the top 20 because she has a bigger fanbase. Girl I am glad you spoke up. I just left a comment on that girl Kim video about NYX being unfair and how she has two kids and blah blah blah... Are these people serious!? It's a contest.. Nyx did not force them to enter. Chances are you WONT get picked especially with thousands of admissions. Like seriously... Kim says I have NYX free promotion. NYX is a multi million dollar company... Every girl knows who they are.. Free promotion just shut up! I can't believe how entitled and delusional these girls are when they say well I tried my hardest and I was not acknowledged... Really ? Well that's life honey!! Sometimes you try and don't win.. AsToldByNoelia I don't think it's simply a matter of trying to discredit those who qualified, there is just too much against the competition to ignore. Yes, the amount of entries is overwhelming, but they are a large company. They could easily pull together a group of people to screen through them - you don't need to watch the whole video to see someone's talent, but 3 seconds, if at all? I'd be hurt like everyone else if I entered; not because I think I'm amazing, but because I would never have been in the running at all. Beyond that, it's hard to not notice the people in the top 30. The amount of people with subscribers in the hundreds of thousands is just suspicious (2/30 have under 1,000 followers; over half have followings of over 50,000). I won't argue, Mykie has an overflow of creativity and talent, but what if she had 100 subscribers? they could have just passed by her video without a glance. I wouldn't want to be picked for this competition if it was because I had a following. It'd make me doubt my own talent. Simply put, it's no fun being in a race if you're the only one with your gate open.

I know this is a lot to ask and you probably get tons of requests for videos but I though I would try anyways. I was diagnosed with something called Alopecia Areata two years ago and long story short, it causes me to loose my hair. I have a wig but I also lost all the hair on my face and so I don't have eyebrows or eyelashes. I was wondering if you could do a tutorial for natural looking brows for someone with little to no hair. It would be really helpful for me if you made this video cause my lack of eyebrows are what I struggle covering up most.

I believe that, while all the other contestants showed great amounts of skill and creativity in their pieces none of them quite embodied the theme of timeless beauty the way you did. A lot of them had looks very specific to certain time eras, just ones that are not around today- that is not timeless beauty. However this's, nature is the perfect thing to get inspiration for a look like this from, because nature is timeless. No one deserved to win as much as you mykie, go team zombae!!
