René Berg is a God !! His lead vocals on The chorus of this absolutely PUTS THIS SONG through the stratosphere!! Someone needs to officially release a René Berg retrospective of his 2 early bands prior to going solo - “Idle Flowers” & “Soho Vultures“ Andy McCoy & Nasty Suicide “Silver Missiles & Nightingales” was released in 1986 & shortly thereafter, Nasty Suicide & René Berg formed “West End Central” which changed band names several months later to “Soho Vultures”. Soho Vultures recorded a 6 song demo including the downright gorgeous “London Town” “London Town” can be found on KZbin under the name René Berg. Soho Vultures toured Finland & were suppose to release a 3 song EP but that never saw release. However, the 6 studio tracks are in circulation in bootleg form & need to see an official release pronto ! A music video was also filmed for Soho Vultures “Head Over Heels” but I have yet to track that rarely seen video down. Idle Flowers was René Bergs band prior to joining Hanoi Rocks in 1985. They existed from 1981-1985 & released 1 single - “All I Want Is You” b / w “Fizz Music” 7” Single (1984) Idle Flowers also recorded another 10 studio tracks that still remain unreleased to this day!! Idle Flowers opened gigs for Hanoi Rocks & most of the other 80’s UK glam rock / punk bands of the day. A René Berg retrospective vinyl LP & or CD needs to be officially released that culls together all known recordings of Idle Flowers & Soho Vultures + any remaining René Berg solo or stray recordings & tack on the Soho Vultures “Head Over Heels” music video at the end to boot ! Someone get on René Berg project ASAP !! Angela McCoy - Andy’s wife didn’t say that René Berg “has the voice of an angel” for nothing !! René Berg is one of the last true remaining lost cult figures of the 80’s British rock n roll / glam rock / glam punk scene !!

Rene Berg on vox. He had replaced Yaffa in Hanoi Rocks after he left when Razzle died. The band later admitted hiring Berg was a mistake. His playing didn't fit in with the band and he apparently spent the gigs in Poland making a fool of himself and hitting on girls during the shows. What he brought to the table was his singing talent and ability to write a lot of material. But he tried to run the show and it caused a blow-up in the studio between, Monroe, and producer Johnny Thunders where Berg told Thunders to F off. That caused Thunders to leave, and Michael followed. They did agree to do the Poland shows together to fulfill a contract, and after that Hanoi split up.

It's a great song! But this line is just plain embarrassing: "And now, she's on the floor with a cold .44". Almost as embarrassing is the way Andy looks while singing it in the video. I actually refrain from turning people on to the song just because of that horrible lyric. While I'm at this is also pretty dawn awful: "It's getting hot and she's stripping off". But I guess it was the 80's and these guy's heroin and coke habits would have messed with their judgement (on top of being Finnish dudes writing in a foreign language).
