My mom just finished chemo, and at first she was so embarrassed to wear wigs. But we got a wig that suited her, and after people started telling her how pretty it looked she got a lot more confident with it. It’s great to see someone talking about this!

I am new to wigs and I have to say I am LOVING it! I am experiencing TE after having COVID and I didn't know what I was going to do. I did research on wigs and came across some great channels here and have learned so much and realized that wigs have come a LONG way from the time our mothers and grandmothers were wearing them! I am 5 or 6 wigs in to my journey with some being higher end and others being in the $30 range from Amazon. I don't think I have spent more than $170 for one wig. I have very fine hair anyway and my hair would never hold these wig styles, so it has given me the opportunity to finally have great hair! Plus they are so convenient

Such an important message that needs to be shared!!!! All women and men should feel comfortable wearing everything from extensions and halos to toppers and full-blown wigs because our beauty standards are so unrealistic these days and then on top of it our food is poison or Waters poison or air is poison so it becomes impossible to have luscious beautiful hair like we're expected to have!!!

That is amazing Krista!!! Which wig brand is your favorite? I just helped a client with alopecia chose a nice light wig this week and she was so happy. Wigs can change your life as soon as you let go of the stigma you may feel towards it.
@kristal27832 жыл бұрын
@@GlamGirlGabi Wow, a favorite brand. Right now I'd have to say Belle Tress. I buy more synthetic than human hair because I live in NS and in the summer it's humid and with a synthetic wig I don't have to worry about that. The downside is they are heat defiant which can make them frizz at the ends if you don't look after them.
@GlamGirlGabi2 жыл бұрын
@@kristal2783 I love synthetic too. They are so much more affordable and they always just look gorgeous. I find them a little tricky to take care of at times as well mostly because I am obsessed with styling hair (obviously) and I want to manipulate it into the exact shape that I want. I find I like synthetic wigs that are straighter more then wavy or curly. I’m way too picky with my curl pattern.
@kristal27832 жыл бұрын
@@GlamGirlGabi Curls are tricky on synthetic wigs. They can be the same wig and one could have a completely different curl pattern than the other. That is definitely challenging.

When I started wearing wigs I thought that everybody was looking at my hairline and felt pretty insecure about it. I learned a lot over the years and wigs have improved so much! I spend so much money on human hair wigs and was still disappointed with the quality and overall look. Unfortunately, most are human hair blends anyway… except you are an influencer then you’re getting most likely the real deal. I recently gave synthetic wigs another shot and OMG what a game changer!! Their laces have become so thin and so undetectable and with the hack from Zuzu’s life here on YT my hair does not tangle or matt up anymore!! Truly a game changer!!

Seriously, every girl really needs a few good wigs. Fun to change hair around without completely damaging it. If you bleach, take a break for 1/2 a year. Let your hair breathe & heal. I never push my hair for completely white blonde to reduce breakage. You need some warmth, even in ashier colors. I rotate colors all year long, brunette, blonde but never 100% blonde, about 80/20 or 70/30 ratio. I dye hair red after I get tired of blonde to fill and the best vibrance. Lastly, going back to brunette and stay there for several months. BTW, you look amazing in all of them, especially love the customized ashy blonde.

Can anyone tell me...do you ever forget your wearing a wig during the day as in does it 'feel' heavey or sweaty or itchy or baggy ? I've tried hair extensions and after a while you can forget you're wearing them ... I'm scared to do the transition.
@GlamGirlGabi2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the wig for sure. I find that Allure is VERY comfortable and doesn’t bother me at all. I LOVE perfection but I feel it a little more around my face with the way the lace is shaped. I am used to it now but for a new wig wearer, it can be different at first. The machine made wigs without lace don’t look as natural but they’re also lighter on the head. I hope I was able to help. If you go to the wigs and hair loss playlist, you can see a lot of other wig videos including some about wig care.
