My mom did it 5 times. I remember her telling me when I was pretty young (and when she only had 2 kids) that I’m gonna have 3 more siblings when I’m older. My mom had siblings when she grew up, but they were much older than her and she sometimes felt lonely so she wanted us to have siblings with not too many years between us. My dad also wanted a big family, so they made sure to start when they were financially able.

If you: - don't feel like yourself - cannot bond with the baby - feel irritable - have changes in appetite - feel anxiety - have low energy - feel hopeless You may have postpartum depression (it usually develops within 4-6 weeks postpartum, but it may take several months). Some experience it so severely that they may have the urge to self-harm or even have suicidal thoughts. If you have just given birth, please take care of yourself as much as possible. It is okay for you to depend on your partner, family, healthcare professionals and other people.. you don't have to do everything alone and shouldn't have to If your loved one has recently given birth, please let them know that they're loved. Help them even without them asking. Try to be more patient and understanding, because they have just given birth and it is really a difficult process.. 😊 Edit: Oh and, DO WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU!

Just had my third child a month ago. Just so as not to scare anyone off, your postpartum period can also be ok. For me it was a bit different with each child but I was up and doing things pretty comfortably within a couple of days. I’m not trying to make anyone who had a harder time feel worse but just remind people that (as with pregnancy) you probably won’t get every symptom at full strength, you might feel more emotional but physically ok, or vice versa.

KEEP TAKING YOUR PRENATAL VITAMINS! They never tell you that but it makes a huge difference after you give birth. Why? Because you will have a hard time getting enough nutrients while breastfeeding and taking care of baby and other kids if you have them. You need to continue supplementing.

Ashley Parmar will they also prevent the hair loss? That sounds so horrible.
@merfeajdan4 жыл бұрын
@@dewilew2137 don't think so, because that's a hormonal thing. It's normally not as horrible as it sounds, because you get fuller hair during pregnancy (and you don't lose such big junks of hair in one pull)
@Emilia4974 жыл бұрын
@@dewilew2137 your hair goes in "sleep mode" during pregnancy, which results in you losing less hair. When you give birth it turns off the "sleep mode", and all the hair your body has been holding on during the pregnancy (that should have fallen off) now falls off, all pretty much at the same time. You're not actually "losing" hair/balding (that can happen, but rare), you're just going back to normal.

The vaginal and perineal pain is SO REAL. Especially if you have an episiotomy. I was in so much pain, it hurt to sit, stand, walk, and just move in general. It was very tender even after then stitches and incision site healed. I was very sensitive about the area for almost 3 months
@ginsulimani30754 жыл бұрын
In both kids I didn't have a episiotomy but with the first baby I had a lot of stiches cause her head was kinda big 35 cm! I remember that I had to get to the shower to pee and I was traumatized to clean the area without getting in the shower... For 2 months I felt pain while peeing, I couldn't sit and the pain was huge. With the second baby (I had him after 15 months) was easier, no stiches, causr his head was smaller. To me, this is worst than anything. Not being able to pee is so bad, I was even afraid to drink cause then I had to pee. But everything's fine now, I don't even remember the pain. We're strong. Very strong.

Brendons Forehead You can do perineal massage in your last trimester and request that your doctor/midwife also do it during labor,but there are no guarantees. I had a really easy post partum, considering i did have a painful labour. I had some grazes after birth but I took a medication so it wouldn't sting when I went to the bathroom. You bleed for a couple of days but it feels good because all of the inflammation and swelling in your body is being released with that blood. Otherwise I had an incredible amount of relief after I gave birth, being able to bend over and just walk quickly again felt amazing! The boost of oxytocin also makes you feel incredibly relaxed and you're just in awe of your baby. Birth and motherhood is a positive experience, there's a lot of fear mongering out there. It's such a short time of your life and it should be treasured.

I agree with MOST of this video, except the losing weight part, especially for breastfeeding moms. I’m one of those moms that loses 0 weight breastfeeding and I just had my third 9 months ago. A lot of times though most people hear that breastfeeding helps you to lose weight postpartum. But that’s only true for SOME women- not all. But now, also being a doula, I’d like to help other mommas on their journey as well☺️!

Oh yes! I put on so much weight post partum not because of overeating or anything but not sleeping enough. So much that it caused so many other health complications. This video is great but in reality, life isn’t so simple. Breastfeeding moms with clingy babies and insufficient support don’t get any rest and that hits hard. I’ve been shamed for my weight so much- really hope that happens to fewer women and the world can be kind.

One thing you learn after going through a pregnancy is everything last for a moment, so there is no need to be super scared of postpartum, it is for few weeks or months than it will pass too. You just deliver a human being, like a whole person, you cant expect your body to just act like nothing happened, you are a super hero, super heroes get hurt in the process of winning the battle and it is okay.

The “baby blues” is no joke and really makes you appreciate what people go through who deal with mental illness all the time. It’s not just sadness, it’s like your brain is no longer your brain

Well that explains the hot flashes and loss of appetite! My mom stayed with us and complained that I made the house too cold. I was sweating buckets at night. Plus I wasn't hungry, so she nagged me about that. She clearly foegot what postpartum was like.

There’s much more pain involved if you have gone through a C Section! Should have mentioned that also. 🤔

I’m sure recovery is different but if you’ve never delivered vaginally, how do you know one is more painful than the other? Vaginal delivery hurts so much bc all your other body parts down there get affected too. 🤨

@@ACC-2929 bruh the literally cut you open take the kid out and sew you back together. Do you think that's not painful at all?

I’m so scared about pregnancy and giving birth. I got married last August and my husband and I would love to have a baby this year. After seeing this I’m so much more nervous about the whole thing

Do not worry, it's all natural, your body knows how to do it and you'll heal and forget everything.

I was too. The morning sickness was a beast, but it didn't last. The labor wasn't nearly as traumatizing as I thought it would be. If I were younger and had more money, I would have more kids.

It's not that bad. I had a baby in April, and yeah, the few months after a little crazy. I cried a lot, and felt super stressed. But the baby grows, your hormones regulate themselves, and things get back to normal (kinda). It always seems people try to make it out to be this miserable experience, but it isn't. I had a good pregnancy, and a non medicated birth and I'd do it all over in a heartbeat. Don't stress, it's a joyful thing.

I Just gad my first born 5 weeks ago, and trust me that I was upset and afraid all the Time when expecting. And guess what - its way better than I thought. Not always easy, but c'mon - there's 7 billion ppl out there, its a proof its totally doable :)

Really sad most pregnancy videos exclude moms who delivery via C section. It’s not like it’s extremely uncommon. I actually requested a c section and I never regretted my decision, I just wish it was more talked about.

Right. I thought c sections were rare but me and 2 friends had them.
