Glarry GMF SS (Mustang Style) Electric Guitar

I have the Glarry GMF HH (the blue one with the hard tail bridge) and I had to shim the neck to pitch it back slightly and raise the saddles to match in order to get it properly intonated. I also installed locking tuners, roller string trees, pickup cavity shielding and I swapped out the pickups for the humbuckers I took off my Squier Bullet Mustang when I put P90s in it. It's an ok guitar, but it's definitely nowhere near as nice as the Squier. I also don't like that they just extended the pickguard to the control knobs and output instead of using a metal plate like a Mustang. They did it with their GJazz bass, so I don't know why they didn't do it with the GMF models. The thing about Glarry guitars is that they're not for beginners because of all the setup they require (I own 4 Glarry guitars), but they do make excellent mod platforms.

Great insights. Speaking of the metal control plate, I am swapping in a metal one to improve the look. I am also installing a different pickup, painting it, and dampening the clicking vibrato. Nothing too crazy for someone who done stuff like that before, but a beginner would definitely struggle.

@@CircuitsAndStrings I tried that, unfortunately the routing is such that the metal plate won't completely cover the cavity.

FYI, those Bullet mustang HH come with 250k pots & .47uF caps.... VERY muddy. Swap to 500k pots & .022 cap and it's MUCH more open & crunchy. Biggest flaw IMO. I get a lot of those dirt cheap cause people swap the pickups & it doesn't fix the mud, so they sell it off cheap. I love the Bullet HH Mustang. Thinnest flattest 24" neck on the market. I just ordered the blue Glarry hoping it's the same neck profile. $86 shipped is a steal.

It’s a pretty good guitar, especially for the price.
