I travelled by car into Glasgow for a few months, to get to work. My car was allowed under this stupid scheme. I think it is an absolute disgrace that we are being steamrollered over by counsellors who are taking control of us. Instead of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, I call it INEQUALITY and EXCLUSION. I have also complained to Glasgow City Council because of a recent advert which states that "only Black and ethnic minorities may apply". I accused Glasgow City Council of being 'racist' in my complaint. We have to push back before it is too late.

Think on an elderly person in a Glasgow hospital seriously ill, liable to be there for some time. His/her spouse/partner cannot afford to visit them because of the costs. That elderly person lies in hospital alone for weeks and then dies alone. People were screaming blue murder about the cruelty of people dying alone during the pandemic and now Glasgow has effectively imposed such conditions on the poor of Scotland. Well done SNP, friend to every Scot.

As someone who used to regularly visit Glasgow and view the chaos on the M8 from my hotel room in the Hilton hotel, it’s madness that you have a LEZ in the immediate areas either side of this motorway - or does the only wind that blows in Glasgow ensure that any emissions are kept within the (ironically elevated) roadway - or more likely being blown up some MP rear end! So glad I retired and no longer have to endure this stupidity.

The Lez boundary directly borders the M8 motorway, the busiest road in Scotland. So you can drive a banger through Glasgow on the motorway feet away from the LEZ and you won't be fined. Pure and utter daftness.

It means that they have to provide a charging stations, and the price, which they choose is what you have to pay. Control is what this is about. Austin Sheridan says that those with mobility problems will be alright because they'll have a Blue Badge. But the eligibility criteria for the badge is very strict. For example, if you can walk more than 50 metres (164 feet) you are not disabled enough to get a Blue Badge. Tough luck if you are a reasonably fit 80 year old and just want to visit your dying spouse in hospital.

4 to 5 long standing ( 20 years plus) High street retailers close for business in Glasgow every week. This is not only due to online shopping, but due to the councils relentless war on the motorist in the past 20 years. The only beneficiaries in all of this are drug addicts who inhabit the empty shop door entrance way enclosures. ( Making it easier for them to permanently inhabit the city in order to beg, and steal the drug money they need from tourists and passers by.) Sorry but if I have a valid MOT and insurance surely my vehicle is road legal ?? On the MOT there is emissions testing so why are the govt changing the goalposts??? Have they not charged enough with the yearly MOT? The Road Tax ( even though the roads are unfit for purpose ) Motorists pay enough on top of all that for insurance as well and now you have to pay for emission schemes!!! This is not inclusive it is deliberately targetting sections of society.

I think ratepayers should insist that all local councillors should be made to use public transport rather than taxis. It would save a fortune and cut down on pollution. According to Glasgow Live Chris Stephen representing Glasgow South West charged the taxpayer £625.45 for taxis around the area in August 2021 ( 58 taxi journeys) and 40 taxis at £394 the month before. Maybe it’s time the taxpayer refused to pay for them to use taxis and make them use public transport since they seem to want everyone else to use it.

Many buses in Glasgow are now electric. However if we buy road tax at the national rate then find we cannot use the road network in LEZ/ULEZ cities, we are not getting the full value of the product for which we have paid. Logically and legally, non-compliant cars should therefore be given a reduced level of road tax reflecting the reduced National road network available to them.

Its the law to put my car through the MOT and if engine emissions are too great it fails and retested after repairs etc. These councillors just see this as an opportunity to fill the economic black hope created by the SNP.
