The title of this song is very accurate to the kind of feelings it evokes. I always feel high when I'm listening to it regardless of if I am. The use of alliteration and rhyming is so tasteful and smooth, 'I take your gloom, I curl it up and puff it into plumes'. The delivery is almost snakelike in a sense? Also really love the subtle water drop sound in the background.

the meaning from interviews 1 - "In your song Gooey, is “Pooh Bear” something that you’d heard someone referred to as an affectionate term? Dave: I guess the idea was that Pooh Bear has very specific characteristics. He’s quite cheeky and always succumbs to his temptations, a bit sheepish and bumbles along through life. I guess the idea was to use those two words to assign all of those characteristics to a person in the song." . "What are peanut butter vibes? Dave: Similar thing to the Pooh Bear, it reminds me of being a kid, getting it on a spoon and walking around, getting it stuck to the roof of your mouth. It’s also sticky, unhealthy and a bit addictive. So really another simple way of saying all of those things." 2- "The lyrics are particularly out-there. Some lines are indecipherable, but others, like “don’t you just wanna know those peanut butter vibes?” are clear enough. This is so-called ‘intelligent pop’ music, but aren’t the band surprised that people take their music so seriously? “It’s kind of meant to be funny,” Dave quips like a shot. “All the lyrics are meant to be cheeky and said from the perspective of a child, someone a bit up in the clouds, so I was using all these references to things that kids would talk about. But I’m glad people take it seriously. Our label were definitely worried.” But Dave, what does it actually mean? “I don’t know,” he replies, evasively. “I never go into what songs actually mean, in serious detail, to me, because it’s quite a personal thing, and I think also, I remember this one instance where Joe was like, ‘hey Dave, what’s this all about?’ And I told Joe what this song was about, and he was like, ‘Oh, that’s totally not what it meant to me.’ So, I don’t want to ruin it like that for other people, just in case there’s some weirdo out there who’s come up with some kind of personal meaning to it." sources - www.thelineofbestfit.com/features/interviews/glass-animals-wed-never-been-in-bands-before-wed-never-written-anything-before-149111 and www.1883magazine.com/music-features/music-features/glass-animals

Yeah. It's probably best to not listen to music that can inspire you to relapse. Music is a definite big one as far as triggers go. Its also one that some people arent even able to realize are a problem let alone is something they might need to quit listening to in order to succeed with their sobriety. Just putting the advice out there. Eventually when sobriety is long established, you will be able to enjoy these things again. After i quit drinking i couldnt allow myself to sing my favorite music because i used to drink with my friends & sing our asses off. It was great but the habit became Pavlovian conditioning & anytime i sang, id be prepared to drink & crave it. It's insane how our minds fail us.

Id be careful doing what you believe is acid. Few chemists are willing to risk it after what happened to the last guy. Ive learned some concerning things about LSD and other hallucinogens, From a good authority STEM professional (who tests samples of street drugs for a legitimate health & scientific pursuits for a three letter agency) He asserts that he has never processed a sample of street originating LSD sample that has matched the base they test all their LSD specific samples against. Its usually some variant of designer drugs like 2ce or whatever. Its a dumb way to test but always spit out any lsd you buy that has a taste esp if it's bitter.

I read so many interpretations of this song I can't follow, so this is what I get: This song is about the flirt between a stigmatized girl and a happy-go-lucky cavalier, which evolves into that romantic tug-of-war that love so often is. She faces his words of seduction with reserve - and both don't want anyone to get hurt - but he doesn't want to lose and simply can't resist her attention and her physical "dope". With all those references to jungle and birth, they draw a bow to wildlife, where courtship comes along with the most beautiful and absurd behaviours. So the message I get is: We wear make-up and perfume, we dream and make compliments, but we can't deny to be (glass) animals! Beautiful song!

Always had an affinity for music. Father could play flawlessly by ear. I can't. I can hear it, carry a tune, get close to the chords/notes, but I can't just feel and do like how I've heard my father did. I never tried hard enough. I rely on substances to help me write. Loosen the gears or fears, however you want to put it. That is not the way. You will be so much better than I or most anyone else if you just push your sober self as far as you can go. It may be painful, it may be boring, it may even hurt, but do it. You will have ALL the control. Find what motivates you, it can be anything that you want. Just find that motivation and do _NOT_ let it go.

I imagine a different movie every time I listen to this. Each separated only by the nuance of details. Maybe they're all from the same place in my mind. Maybe they're all memories of someone I've indirectly imagined; all strung together in an attempt to understand why this song resonates with me. Art like this, it's like exploring my mind for the first time. Like fog and deep waters. The whispers of the subconscious mind. Unexplored and ancient. The meeting of the sun and moon, an eclipse of the mind. Though my consciousness tries to decipher words that have never been spoken, they are utterly lost in translation. Even so, it's hard to resist the murmurs of murky waters.

Now that I look at the lyrics I think that this song is about an young significant other that wishes that things could go back to being simpler and easier in the early stages of their relationship. The one singing the song is more experienced and sees the road that their other is going down and wants to stop them but doesn't want to end up hurting them even more. So instead of taking a course of action they ponder it and do nothing to stop them.

This song and even the background give me the feel of a modern interpretation of the garden of Eden story. The speaker who says "mind my wicked words" is giving the person he's talking to the 'temptation' as he realizes he's naked. The speaker is explaining what he had his eyes closed to aka the world outside of the garden of Eden, and thus temptation.

my interpretation on this is that the singer is someone who is reckless, " wanna take the chance? ", someone who's not very sensitive, " mind my wicked words ", and enjoys freedom and cant bear to be in one place forever, " i cant bear this place, i just wanna go where i can get some space ", whereas the other person likes being familiar with their surroundings and is a homely person if that makes sense. they are sweet and sensitive, " you just gonna cry ", and " peanut butter vibes " just reminds me of someone who is happy and likes living a cosy life. the singer talks sweeter to this person, knowing they are sweet and more sensitive yet naïve, " pooh bear ", " id say i told you so ", they warn due to the persons naïvety. the singer tries to encourage the person to follow them, to have what the singers idea of freedom is, yet because they know the persons ideal of life, they see this as ' simple ', " my my simple sir ", the singer also knows that they themselves cant be able to be with this person due to their differences, which they are upfront about, " this aint gonna work ", this refers back to " mind my wicked words ", knowing they come off cruel as this line follows directly after " this aint gonna work ". idk thats what i thought i just really like interpretating songs lol

Truth be told I've been there, I've done this all before I take your gloom I curl it up and puff it into plumes As you start to hit your 30's and have been through most situations in life, this verse resonates. People tell you problems you've already lived and you tell them to just chill and throw all that stress in the air

@@calistarobertson6170 Very very late, but it's a somewhat uncommon condition where your brain associates two different senses together. So for example, you could associate colors and sound together, so different songs would have very specific colours associated with them in your mind and essentially feel the colour that each sound makes.

Feels like an interpretation of ones lifetime in a few different stages. As a Child, then your Teens, and then as an Elder. Perhaps, even Afterlife...I'm just pretty thoughtful tonight. ✌
