So back in the day she was IC Hot and I was Boy Courtney in the B+B D+D fanclub that met at Stark Street Pizza back in the 80s. We accidently crossed streams in 96 and summoned the Marshmallow Man of Marilyn Monroe of the Meow Meow.

So she called me Boy Courtney, she was IC HOT, Johnny Paycheck was Jewels after dark - and she called him Moog Boy. In Spin Age Blaster he was Geto Blaster while was Master Blaster and our so-called Christian Death Cult was the church of Christopher Cross - back in the way way long ago.

It's kind of sad they broke up. Everything has to come to an end, but the original IDIB fans were waiting a long ass time for them to drop an LP which never came. The fact that the break up happened around the same time as the Chromatics one, where only the non-Johnny band members were vocal about it, indicates some falling out. I'm not a huge fan of the new direction of IDIB, which has lost its mystique. But forever a fan of the magic of what was.

Here's a scene report from right before I went to work for Johnny at Fred Meyers in Spring of '96. Q: yeah well Gabe showed me his NO NEW YORK and I know the next RIFFS set list and we're opening with "Ambition" not "Baby Cart". A: so you and Muslim were busking Chinese Rocks and they're calling him the black KC and you're Boy Courtney. Go catch us some stars Master Blaster or Morticia's gonna Tina Turner you - you'll find us at Fred Meyers and also - Morticia doesn't smoke or drink anymore and JP is mad at you and Trina and we're still trapped in La Salle all day STROKER ACE BASTARD. Q: is this about the bowls of cereal I threw out the window cuz that was stupid. A: it was embarrassing you were there till Halloween and you didn't have dish soap? DO IT CLEAN, ECHO AND THE BUNNYMAN. Or we'll worse than staple you to a tree we're still laughing about that and you were whining about yr Big Black shirt.
