Whoever produced this album deserves a gold medal. I love how it's super bass-heavy without sounding muddy.

I keep an open mind about different kinds of music as I've listened to Hard Rock, Metal, Punk and Hardcore since the 80's-2000's...I was brought here because of a video GC guitarist Josh "JT" Travis did on a Legator guitar endorsement. I've never heard of this band before or his playing until now. His playing on this EP is brutal, yet magnificent at the same time-I'm impressed with his technique because 8 and 9-stringed guitars are difficult to play and execute on without the addition of cutting through the rest of the music. His guitar tunings are craaazy also. Two thumbs up.

Listen to the Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza. It's his old band that's way more technical.

@White209811 жыл бұрын
I agree, but it does remind me a bit of Jens from Meshuggah. That kind of yell instead of growl style, it sounds badass and its very easy to hear what he's saying. Very rare for a scream to be so clean.

Lol, it's a 8-string, and 6-string guitars have certain limitations, there's a reason why guitars with more than 6 strings exist, sometimes you just need more range than a 6-string

akisatan Meshuggah is going to be the road to everything in this subgenre of metal, but that should be redundant because these bands that sound like this are categorized by the sound rather than song structure, which is fucking dumb to say this sounds like Meshuggah. It's rhetorical. That's like saying every single metal band is fake because they have guitars in it. gg

Ya I get what your saying. You like the more natural sounding screams which I like too. I really liked Jesse's vocals with Josh in Danza. It has that type of scream but with more power it feels like to me though. I probably have a huge bias being the hardcore Danza fan that I am and Glasscloud just doesn't compare to me. It's just my opinion though and a lot of people like Glasscloud. I'm happy that Josh is still making music because he is one of my favorite guitarists.

This band literally wouldn't exist without the vocalist because he's the one that formed it. So, take that into consideration while you're criticizing him.
@BaronPowerTraining11 жыл бұрын
jed52 i completely agree with him. no disrespect to him, he's a good vocalist, i just don't think he fits the band. i think someone like Guy Kozowyk would fit much better.
@brandonbaty229111 жыл бұрын
I disagree. I think with this particular sound, a deeper vocalist would instantly make it sound more generic and I can name several bands that sound identical. Stepping away from the sound of Royal Thousand to this, no matter your opinion of it, would be more flat and uninteresting if they had a deep voiced singer. Just my opinion, but bands like that lose my interest quickly for some reason. Maybe because the vocals and guitars are too similar, and it begins to sound droning? Also, there is so damn many of those same bands. My opinion.
@derka626211 жыл бұрын
Well considering he founded the band, you'll have to get used to him. And I think he fits the sound just fine. His voice is recognizable and unique in my opinion.
