A new drop-off option for recyclable glass is now available to Midwest City residents. Sanitation & Recycling Manager, Jerry Summers, tells us about the do's and don'ts of dropping off your recyclable glass at the Midwest City Recycling Center.
To help us keep this service available, it is important that residents understand:
-- Only recyclable glass can be accepted in the glass drop-off bins. --
Recyclable glass can include beverage bottles, condiment jars, other food jars, and other glass marked with a recycling symbol or designation. Clear and mixed glass must be separated. Please rinse the glass containers before dumping them in the bins.
Windows, windshields, cookware, large panes of glass, etc., are not permitted.
Located just a few blocks west of the intersection of Douglas and SE 15th St., the Recycling Center also has a separate set of drop-off bins for cardboard. Watch for the Recycling Center signs on Jim White Dr. and follow the rules posted within the glass and cardboard recycling drop-off locations.
