Great game. Nice deep game that can be played quickly. The resource board is just an awesome mechanic that can also melt your brain trying to understand it when you first start playing. Good luck.

The cardplay mechanic is awsome, and the resource wheel as well, just missed my top 50, so many good games to compete with!

Yeah for me, for competitive it is all about the cardplay, and the fact you have almost infinite strategies!! Sometimes 4 rounds is not enough!!

One Stop Co-op Shop Havent played it but am interested in possibly purchasing. Most people say the changes to the game make it better than Rise of the Runelord.

I just purchase Skulls and Shackles a little while ago, because a friend and I are playing through Rise of the Runelords together, and I wanted one to play solo between our games. I really enjoyed Rise of the Runelords, but I think I like Skulls and Shackles more! You can't get a character that can just do it all, so you need a lot more balance and planning, instead of just grabbing the most powerful weapons and some healing. I really like both, but I put S&S a tad higher.

Thanks for letting me know Luke! I might have to give Runelords a try to make sure I like the system solo as I know there is tons of dice rolling, and sometimes I get dice fatigue, but I love the idea of slowly upgrading your character, similar to Gloomhaven!

Yeah, they are two of my favorite games, they just don't get to the table often enough. Hoping to change that :-)
