Thanks for posting this info. I was fortunate enough to visit the store twice in the last couple of years when travelling for work. Sorry to hear about it closing. I have a handful of some nice, harder to find LPs that picked up there, which I'll cherish even more. I was always impressed by the deep selection and fair prices.

Dynamite tribute Alex. Really appreciated seeing the records that you showed from Glass House. Cool to see the quick shot of Sherv doing some intent digging. Sad to hear that they are closing. Sad to hear that any record shop is closing. Thanks for sharing it all~ Rob/Boston

yeah i think with all the competition here the more specialized shops do better, plus they tend to be smaller (cheaper rent). always fun to dig with sherv.

Really interesting video. Lots of interesting records; cool to see a nice copy of The Andromeda Strain soundtrack. I like the personal aspect of losing a record store. It’s so much more than just buying a product. A good local shop really becomes a home for collecting and learning about music/records. I’ve felt the same about a local called Record Time that’s been gone for about 10 years. Great staff and I always found something interesting whenever I stopped by. Thank you for sharing. Shawn

Fantastic records of course from a shop I suppose I won't get to visit. The Jordan In the World has really ascended. I paid more for my copy and its way above that now. good reminder for me to finally listen to that Chas Smith.

Thanks for sharing the video. Loved the Glasshouse record store and went to lots of concerts there as well. Not sure what music you are playing in your video but it sounds like you are telling us this story while in the middle of a 1980’s arcade. Have a great one.

I left California in 2006. I had no idea there was a record store next to the glass house by the same name. Went to a lot of shows there.

Alex, this video inspired me to listen to ''Elephantasy'' from Cherry's ''Complete Communion'' recording.I discovered Sublime Frequencies due to the fact that the Bishop brothers from Sun City Girls, own and operate the label, along with Hisham Mayet. They also released a large number of DVDs , I don't own any of them, but have seen some enticing snippets. The DG box set, '' Avant Garde'' contains a great survey of Modern Classical composers and ''defining'' works that ''set the World on fire'', if you were listening. R.I.P. Glasshouse Records, brick and mortar are not eternal, but alas, MUSIC never dies.

A favorite part of my trip out there was when we met up in Pomona. Hate to see The Glass House go. Always love shops whose main focus is used. Dig all of those finds you showed. I’ve only found that Clifford Jordan once at a convention here and it was in fair condition. Brutal shape and the guy from Sorry State still wanted 300 for it lol lol

Just found out about this store in the last few years or so, probably through you as well. Obviously never had the chance to visit. Based on the footage and the records you showed, seems like a great spot. I’m slowly but surely kind of not seeing the appeal of box sets anymore, with a few exceptions, and that DG avant-garde series is definitely one of them. Managed to find some single LPs from that series in Florida last winter. Great tribute video overall, it’s a shame to see them close.

for sure, box sets are designed to be objects, but we're all susceptible to their charms. I just got a big one recently in fact.

Ya too bad about about glasshouse..always looked like a good stop for digging if your in the area..especially with the criteria you mentioned i agree with that. Never see yost's stuff here.. I love that smith lp a great one. The avant garde box you rarely see great grab there.. Look forward to sherv's haul if he shares it at some point. Much love chris.
