how scratch resistant are the mirrors? would they be suitable for adventure or dirt bikes?

The reflecting surface is coated with a wafer-thin, glassy layer of silicon dioxide (SiO2). This coating is UV, weather, chemical and abrasion resistant. The mirrors are suitable for all kind of motorcycles, including adventure and dirt bikes.

Sehr geil auch der Fluxkompensator vom Fraunhofer der die Spiegel im Parallelraum-Vakuum mit angereichertem Kryptonit beschießt um sie unzerbrechlich zu machen. Wenn ich das richtig sehe.

Sehr informativer Film ohne das ganze Werbegesabbel. Qualitätsarbeit made in Germany. Das Design ist wirklich außergewöhnlich und der Herstellungsaufwand rechtfertigt den Preis der Produkte zehnmal mehr, als bei Chinaschrott. Beide Daumen hoch! Das werden meine nächsten Spiegel. Btw… gibt es so ein Video auch für Eure Lenkerendenblinker?

Yes, the surface is coated with an abration resistance, glass-like coating in a process called Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition.

Nein so einfach ist das nicht. Da wurde zwar die Herstellung gezeigt, jedoch nicht die kompetenz wie alles zusammen gestellt wird. Die Maschinen selber, welche Konfiguration und und und. Alleine der messerkopf, beim Überplanen ist eine Sonderanfertigung, wie auch die Aufnahmen etc.

I couldn't figure out what the trails were on the side ultra-precision flycut head. Are they an artifact from a rolling shutter or something, or did I accidentally ingest some LSD? Such a beautiful product. This is some genius-level design right here, from the product to the means thereof.

This looks super cool and there's obviously an expansive mirror to manufacture. I wonder, however, is the mirror really that fragile? Will the finish be scratched to all hell after a few weeks of use?

I wondered this too but I guess the coating process they do in the big vacuum chamber adds a scratch resistant layer, like is put on spectacle plastic "glass" - I doubt it´s as hard as real glass but these will weigh nothing in comparison & are works of engineering art!

The mirror surface is protected with a 3 µm thick, flexible, glass-like coating. The coating has the hardness of glass. The coating and thus the mirror surface underneath last as long as a conventional mirror made of glass.

Wie reinigt man die Spiegel, mit normal Glass Reiniger oder nur Wasser oder doch was anderes und wie lange hält die Beschichtung (also die Spiegel Optik) wenn man regelmäßig reinigt, verschwindet nach ein paar Jahren 1/2 die Beschichtung so das man wieder neue kaufen muss oder hält das schon so 4/6 Jahre ? Oder vielleicht noch länger ?

Die Spiegeloberfläche ist mit einer 3µm dicken, flexiblen, glasartigen Beschichtung geschützt. Die Beschichtung hat dabei die Härte von Glas und kann nicht durch Reinigungsmittel geschwächt werden. Die Beschichtung und damit die Spiegeloberfläche darunter hält so lange wie ein herkömmlicher Spiegel aus Glas.

prefinishing mit diamantfräser, und dann nochmal vakuumbedampfen? Dachte sowas macht keiner mehr in kleinem Rahmen in Deuschland.. Ich musste meine Prismen zum neubedampfen nach england senden, als die bespiegelung abbröselte.

Find ich klasse und könnten meine nächsten Spiegel sein! Hat zufällig jemand solche Spiegel an einer 1200 GS (2017) verbaut. Bevor ich dafür über hundert Euro hinlege würde ich wenn möglich gerne sehen wie das aussieht!?
