FINALLY A RECIPE WITHOUT THE GOT DARN BOX CAKE MIX🤦🏾‍♀️ YOURS IS THE BEST THUS FAR🤷🏾‍♀️ I'm a real from scratch kind of gal. The taste is on a totally different level. This recipe will give you that southern honey bun cake taste that you're looking for, not that store bought taste you're gonna get from the box mix. This is exactly how I make my butter cake and honey bun cake. The only difference is in the icing. I use evaporated milk, butter, vanilla and confectioner sugar. Bayyyybae!!! yes ma'am, it never disappoints. New Orleans native born and raised.

THIS CAKE WAS FANTASTIC!!! I moved to London from Chicago years ago and have SOOOOO missed GOOD cinnamon rolls and honeybuns (honeybuns are not a thing here). This cake absolutely fit the bill! A lot of recipes for this cake uses boxed yellow cake mix and sour cream instead of the buttermilk. I'm going to try it this way and see if I like it better and see if my family notices the difference.
