- Thanks for the question. The 1st generation evolution wireless system is no longer in production so it's unlikely that you'll be able to buy replacement body packs, unless you buy them second hand. The newer body packs (G2 and G3 versions) are not compatible with the EW100 system. However, Sennheiser will, at least in Singapore, continue to repair this older equipment, so I suggest you look up your closest Sennheiser service centre from their website. All the best!

- Ok if that's the case you may have an issue with the transmitter itself. I would suggest finding another ew100 transmitter and setting it to the same frequency as yours to verify if the receiver is ok. If the new transmitter works, then yours will need to be sent for repair. From what you say this does not sound like operator error.

- You're welcome. Yes, try installing a fresh alkaline battery and see if that fixes the problem. If the pack still functions you can continue to use it, although you won't be able to see any of your settings. Alternatively you can take it to your nearest Sennheiser service centre to get it repaired - they are quite good at standing behind their products and will repair products that are long-discontinued if they are able to get the parts.

- I would start out at -10dB, increasing to -20dB for loud speakers or those who shout/get excited. You can always bring the level up at your mixer but if the sound is distorting at the beltpack you have a mess on your hands.

Is your RF bar still full (ie all the way to the right of the screen) when the drop outs happen? Or does it drop to just one or two bars? Also, does the drop out happen all the time once you pass 5 meters or is it intermittent?

Hi our church has, what looks like two of these systems rack mounted - this is the first info I have found anywhere on these older systems, running at 846 MHz (in the UK) which is a legally free level, only 1 mic and it does not work. Is it possible to buy replacement body packs and will their newer body packs work (i.e. the G3) with the old receivers?

For a microphone is needs to be stereo (ie balanced) because it uses one of the terminals to power the microphone. Yes you can also connect an electric guitar - for more info on how to do that see the owner's manual for the correct cable.

Hello, I have just bought a EW100 G1 and found your video very useful. It may be a daft question but can I plug a hand held dynamic or battery powered condenser mic into the transmitter?
@GLBProductions
@GLBProductions 9 жыл бұрын
+Michael HASTED Hmm, I've never tried this before but theoretically it's possible, using an XLR female to minijack connector. A better solution would be to simply buy the plug on transmitter that Sennheiser sells which is designed for this purpose.
@mhasted
@mhasted 9 жыл бұрын
+GLB Productions Thanks for that, I'll give it a try if you don't think it will do any harm. The problem with the plug-in transmitter which, as you say, is the ideal solution, is that they cost over £250
@GLBProductions
@GLBProductions 9 жыл бұрын
Michael HASTED Try with a dynamic mic first and make sure your cable is correctly wired. As with all experimentation results cannot be guaranteed ;)
@mhasted
@mhasted 9 жыл бұрын
+GLB Productions I assume you mean balanced or unbalanced. Looking at the cable I have, it is not marked. There is what looks like a normal 3.5mm stereo at one end and a female XLR at the other. How do I know if it's balanced or not? What should it be for the EW100? Can it do any harm if wrong? Thanks for being so patient, I do appreciate it. Michael
@GLBProductions
@GLBProductions 9 жыл бұрын
+Michael HASTED It should be wired for balanced operation ie tip to XLR pin 2, ring to pin 3 and sleeve to pin 1. In order to determine if it's actually wired like this you'll need a cable tester, multimeter with continuity function or just disassemble the connectors and match the wires.

There are many reasons why this might happen - the transmitter may be muted or too close/too far from the receiver, the antennas may be faulty or disconnected, or there might be strong interference on the transmitting frequency.

Definitely check your cables to see if there is a short somewhere, also try changing your transmission frequency in case there is some interference on the existing channel.

@GLBProductions
@GLBProductions 10 жыл бұрын
- With wireless you tend to get what you pay for, and cheap wireless systems can be very frustrating and cause more problems than they solve. How many channels of wireless do you need to run simultaneously?
@Lepomis8
@Lepomis8 10 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean... i could start with just one channel,however running two channels simultaneously would be great.... i was reading some reviews about the Azden WLX-PRO Lavaliere System that is not so cheap,but someone still say it hasn't a good sensitivity and you have to speek loudly. i swa the Azden WLX-PRO Lavalier Mic Kit VS. Sennheiser EW 100 G3 review... Is there any chance to get a better audio editing it with a software to clear the noise a little bit? Probably a cheaper choice to have a great sound quality would be recording the audio and then match it to the video...i don't know how difficult this could be...if the camera is not even recording the same sound of the scene it could be a mess.
@GLBProductions
@GLBProductions 10 жыл бұрын
- Sensitivity can usually be adjusted, and all good wireless systems use companding (compression and expanding) in order to ensure decent results within a given range. The transparency of this companding circuit is one of the reasons good wireless systems cost so much. I would not resort to post-processing to clean up audio unless it was damaged or recorded in less than ideal circumstances - start with a good system to begin with. If you can't afford a decent wireless system, go wired to start with and upgrade when you have the money, it'll sound much better. Matching the audio and video is not that difficult as long as you plan for it in advance and have some sort of audio marker that can be used to align the signals. An old-style clapper board can be used, or just clapping your hands together!
@Lepomis8
@Lepomis8 10 жыл бұрын
Nice.... If i have two people with two different mic.. too close to each other what could you do? Is there a way to pickup almost only your voice?Probably in that case i should use only one audio track...
@GLBProductions
@GLBProductions 10 жыл бұрын
- There are a couple of solutions - either use just one mic, as they do in interviews, or gate the two sources so that only one mic is on at any given time. This will prevent destructive interference between the two sources.
