Hi, thanks for the informative video...just finding this now a few years later. I did have one question here and that is, if I search to buy a Sennheiser EW 100 or 500, all the listings show me a box and then either 1 or 2 of these units here you have in your video. I'm a little confused as to whether what you are showing here is a transmitter or receiver. These look like transmitters, but you seem to be using one as a transmitter and one as a receiver. Would love some clarification here. Thank you! I'm trying to find a solution for wireless transmission from DJ mixer to PA speakers. Thanks!

Everything is on my pedalboard now (preamp/cab sim), so the rackmount receiver is not ideal for me. Violin question: I have an electric Jordan violin with a Starfish pickup (it is not as hot as the Barberas I have in my other Jordans). I bought the 500 through your link. Trying it out, the highs are pretty high and that can get unpleasant on the high strings, as you know. I am adjusting between the AF out on the receiver and the Sensitivity on the transmitter. If you do not need the portability, it's not a big deal about that (I usually gig with multiple arrangements, so it's helpful for me). But to me it just depends on how much and often you gig. It's my full time job, so the $600-$900 is worth it because now I have THE wireless I need and I don't have to worry about it. That's not necessary for someone who does it more for a hobby. I have not tried the XSW 1, but I definitely trust Sennheiser stuff. Either one would be good, it's just the EW one will be better. Basically however many musicians you have in your band is how many Aux or Send channels you’ll need on a mixer. This could be a digital or analog mixer. Digital is usually easier because you can use a phone app to control your mixes. As far as the xr18, you really don’t need anything else unless you wanted to start using it live. But just for practice especially, you would need that, and then just a few headphone amps since you do not NEED to be wireless for practice. Hope that helps!
