It still amazes me how Rachel was portrayed as the "bad one" here... everyone else (the students) know or suspected Finn wasn't the father and still were eager to let him ruin his life over someone else's baby - and all based on cheating and lies. Rachel could be a brat and could piss everyone off for days, but in this situation, regardless of her motivations, she did the right thing. She told Finn what he NEEDED to know, Quinn was the one in the wrong here, not only did she cheat on him and lie about Finn being the father, but she was also only WITH Finn for the popularity, she only cared about the superficial things. (I'm so glad Quinn had amazing character development). I don't mind Rachel's character but I don't love her, even so, I hated seeing her being portrayed as the one in the wrong here when she did the right thing.

Rachel did the right thing but for the wrong reason and you have to look at every side of the story Quinn chose Finn because Puck was a deadbeat, Puck got her drunk and knocked her up. It was not Rachel's place to tell Finn anything it was none of her business and she also chose to lie and say she didn't do anything. She chose to tell him at the worst possible moment. She could have done a better job of delivering the news but at the end of the day they will always be friends till the end till they die. But that's just my opinion.

I'll never understand why people call Rachel the bitch when she's the one who told the truth. Meanwhile, Quinn was the one who slept with his Best friend and then lied about it. Puck claimed to be his best friend and then lied too, tried to under cut him every step of the way by trying to show he was better than Finn as a father while still not coming clean. He then told Mercedes who told the entire Glee club and they only kept the secret, not because they cared about Quinn or Finn, but because they ONLY cared about winning. However, It was RACHEL who tried to keep the Coach from finding out she was pregnant and gave up her underwear to do it. It was RACHEL who helped Finn find a job so he could save money to pay for medical bills (for a child who wasn't his) and sure, Rachel did tell Finn partly because she wanted him for herself, but she also genuinely cares about Finn. At the very least? She cared enough about him to do what No one else in Glee Club did... Tell the fucking Truth.

Rachel may have had the wrong reasons for telling the truth, but she also did it because she cared for Finn. She was the one who gave up her underwear to protect Quinn and Finn from being outed to the public about the pregnancy. Quinn forced him into fatherhood and then yelled at him all the time.

I have a lot of issues with Rachel, but I agree with her decision to tell Finn the truth. In Quinn's own words, Rachel had the guts to do what she couldn't do and tell the truth. Who knows how long Quinn would have kept the charade going? It wasn't fair to Finn, and while Rachel telling on Quinn could have been an attempt to get with Finn, I believe in this moment she truly cared about his feelings and how he was being treated in this situation

Exactly, she didn't want Finn to be living a lie for years. Now if this lie had continued to be perpetuated, Finn, Puck and Quinn would've ended up in the same fate as Sean, Julia and Christian from Nip/Tuck (the Ryan Murphy show that preceded Glee). If you've seen Nip/Tuck, then you'll know that Christian is the biological father of Sean and Julia's son Matt, a secret that had been kept hidden for years.

I have so many issues with Rachel and I can confidently say I strongly dislike her character. However, this was one of her most redeeming moments by far on the show. It doesn’t matter what motive she had by telling Finn, she did the right thing. Finn had a right to know. Rachel was Finn’s friend way before she was Quinn’s and she wasn’t friends with her at this point. Finn was going to be forced to take care of and raise a baby that wasn’t his, thinking it was actually his, when Quinn cheated on him and got pregnant with his best friend. He had a right to know, and Rachel was looking out for him while everyone else was trying to keep it a secret. Everyone else was thinking of Glee Club but no one was thinking of FINN.
