old comment thread but i think a lot of the ending (if that's what your talking about) especially had to do with what the actors wanted (i say that because lea wanted rachel with johnathan and kevin + jenna wanted artie and tina back together and that all happened) and i think amber and chord wanted different things for their characters because i know amber seemed really happy her character was independent and making $$$ and i don't know about chord but i know he has said his favorite ship is sam and quinn so it's safe to say i think the writers let the actors kind of envision their characters future. i also have to agree with yuuki, they wanted different things and sure they got along mentally but being in a relationship means getting along in both areas and if they are on opposite ends of the spectrum they need to find someone who is compatible in both areas or the relationship will suffer. in other words, they have to be on the same page, not in different chapters. plus samcedes fans always make it a point that fabrevans is so bad because quinn cheated but sam cheated on mercedes too...i think that's a good reason to not get back together tbh (though you can move past it like some endgames have cheated too but i'm saying it's a good reason to not want to try again paired with not being on the same page kind of makes it even more hard.
