Glee has not aged well in many aspects, but it was really one of the first shows of its kind to shed light on issues that were simply being pushed by the wayside. This scene alone is enough to make me a forever fan. Everything about it is just beyond amazing. The acting. The singing. The sense of unity. People politicize the trans community to a point where they are dehumanized. I’d like to imagine that if those same people watched this scene, they would see that in many ways, trans people are a little more human than the rest of us, in large part because they have to be in order to exist in this cesspool of bigotry that we call the world. Out of all of the things Glee got wrong, they sure did get this one thing right.
@kev71612 жыл бұрын
I think Glee got a LOT of things right over its six season run. Just like any show, it had good and not-so-good episodes, but you can't deny its heart and the sheer vocal talent from nearly all the cast members throughout the years.

I think it’s because Alex couldn’t portray emotions as well as when they are singing. I’m sure it was difficult for the writers to go further with their storyline. They just needed more practice acting, I think that’s why the cat fishing storyline had such an abrupt ending. We didn’t see any repercussions during the next season, as if it never happened

There's a light in the darkness Though the night is black as my skin There's a light, burning bright, showing me the way But I know where I've been There's a cry in the distance It's a voice that comes from deep within There's a cry asking why, I pray the answer's up ahead, yeah 'Cause I know where I've been There's a road we've been travelin' Lost so many on the way But the riches will be plenty Worth the price, the price we had to pay There's a dream in the future There's a struggle that we have yet to win And there's pride in my heart 'Cause I know where I'm going, yes I do And I know where I've been, yeah There's a road we must travel There's a promise we must make Oh, but the riches, the riches will be plenty Worth the risks and the chances that we take There's a dream, yeah, in the future There's a struggle that we have yet to win Use that pride in our hearts to lift us up to tomorrow 'Cause just to it still would be a sin I know it, I know it, I know where I'm going Lord knows I know where I've been Oh, when we win, I'll give thanks to my God 'Cause I know where I've been

im about to pick this thing apart (In a good way) (my show choir ass couldn't help it's self) 0:04 it starts 0:29 this line sets up the whole song. just by this line you know that this will be amazing 0:36 the vibrotto on the riff is beautiful. 0:44 when she goes high on "Deep" it's fucking amazing 0:55 her riffs are beauty. 1:08 I know this isn't about the singing (we all know that's beautiful) but when she goes over to him and takes his hand it's a "You're not alone" "We love you" and that is so affirming. To know that you aren't alone. 1:15 this line is so fucking powerful 1:24 his face is pure joy. Having them all be trans is one of the best desitions they could have made for this (Besides deciding her to sing this) 1:36 the run to the people that will accept him is just AHHHHHHHH it brings me to tears every time 1:38 her belt is GORGEOUS 1:42 her backing vocals are on point 2:15 the way she goes into this is just emaculet and then she goes straight into the high note is beautiful 2:32 AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SHES SO TALENTED.
