Other options like a private school, alternative (Inc homeschooling) or other public school would've cost him money. Sue may have some flaws ie wrecking the christmas tree and whatnot, but she also did some good things for the students and the school. She gave becky some courage and support. She shut down an inappropriate school performance. And in this, she fixed a situation. And honestly, i would've loved to have her as my principal (or at least someone similar) bc my high school principal wasn't very good at his job.

That’s not how expulsions work. Schools get zero say in expelling a kid. The kid gets put up for expulsion, there is a hearing at the school district, and the board decides if the kid goes back to school or not.

I wouldn't classify this as Sue being "nice" per say, rather Sue doing *exactly* what a principal is supposed to do in a situation like this. This scene would've lost all weight & credibility were David not immediately expelled. There are zero tolerance policies in most school's these days, especially as it relates to violence. Threatening someone's life is grounds for immediate dismissal from school property - as it very well should be. Essentially Sue followed basic 21st century school safety protocol.

One of the best things about Kurt is his Strength. Not physical strength, but strength of character and heart. He had every right to out Karofsky for threatening his life, for making him feel unsafe and unloved, for making his school life a living hell. No reasonable person would’ve faulted him for it; while being outed is one of the worst things you can do to someone because it can open them up to a whole new world of hurt, Karofsky gave up the right to his secret because he subjects Kurt to that hurt every day and worse, a threat on his life (whether he meant it or not, he said it as an intimidation tactic, not as a joke or banter). Hell, maybe Karofsky would’ve finally understood what he’s been doing to Kurt had he been outed. But no. Despite everything his bully has subjected him to, every humiliation and threat he’s received at Karofsky’s hands, Kurt shows kindness and mercy. Even when Karofsky has the gall to counter Paul’s questioning with “maybe he likes me”. That would’ve made me snap, showing compassion for my bully only to immediately be hit with THAT, I would’ve backtracked so hard and told them exactly what he was hiding. And yet Kurt doesn’t give in. He just keeps on being his awesome self, being kind and generous and empathetic no matter how much it hurts him. This is the mark of a great character, if not (arguably) the greatest character in Glee, and I’ll stand by that.

One of my favorite sequences. Sue may be mean to the Glee club, and even Kurt in particular, but when push comes to shove she takes things seriously as she should given she is the principal of the school. No jokes, no beating around the bush. That little exchange: "It's your job to protect the students" -"Couldn't agree more"is amazing in showing that Sue's character is so deep and well thought.

Sue is honestly the best Principal in the entire world! She immediately took action once the situation was brought to her attention in order to protect Kurt. Her character just kept evolving. But my fave is still Burt. I have 3 kids now 19-21. we watched this show during its height of popularity. And I always wanted to be like a Burt type of dad. An alpha male that tried to understand the changing times, and would do anything for his kids. Even when he’s the butt of the joke.
