mariaarakal that drama was SO unnecessary, the producers ruined their chemistry with that feud shit. They shouldve been friends, they needed to be friends specially after the tragic loss of Finn, what they didnt need was to fight. I will never forgive the writers, It wouldve been so much better to watch they building an even stronger relationship than ruining it and then "fixing" it with this scene.

Naya and lea had a really bad behind the scenes feud where they wouldn’t even talk to each other between scenes so I don’t think the characters could have really been friends because of that

Sarah Char Of course they could have. That is the point of acting; to act out things that aren't actually real. Of course it's easier to play best friends with your actual real-life best friend, but over the years there have been lots of on-screen best friends who were played by actors who didn't get along off-screen. Most actors even appreciate the opportunity to get to do something a little more challenging and out of their personal comfort zone. So even if Lea Michele and Naya Rivera weren't very good friends in real life, I don't think that the writers should have let that affect the show. I mean, Rachel and Santana are not the same people as Lea and Naya. I've read that some of Rachel and Santana's fights in the later seasons were inspired by the actresses' real-life feuds. But for me personally, I think that if I were an actress on a show like this and my real-life dislike for a co-star inspired the writers to write such childish arguments between the characters (such as the arguments between Rachel and Santana), then I think that I would probably be horrified and it would probably make me start wondering if we were really behaving that childishly in real life. It would probably have been a wake-up call, I think, and it probably would have made me want to see if I could mend my relationship with that person.

@@michaelmeir-wright6204 I think there was an interview where Naya talked about it and the book, basically from what I understood it isn't really what the media played it up as, but also there were times when shooting that they really didn't get along. But I think now, after everything that's happened, they've both moved on and kind of made peace with it.

These two together are so powerful. They truly were glee when Cory passed away. I wish the writers didn't have them feud tbh. They had a great friendship building up and it would've been the best friendship on glee had they continued it. -- I know Naya and lea were feuding off set-- Still it doesn't mean Santana and Rachel should've feuded as well. I'm mad at Rachel for a making a big deal about Santana auditioning as her understudy and then almost ruining it for herself when she flew to LA and Santana stepped in to help regardless of all the things she's said about Santana and slapping her.

A lot of people are asking what happen to Santana's and Rachel's friendship. Well alot happened actually. Lea and Naya were not exactly getting along the last two seasons. Mainly because after Cory past, Lea started pushing people away. She couldn't handle the lost of Cory. And it caused a rift in a lot of her friendships. She choose to only lean on a couple of the castmates instead of all of them. But things have calmed down over the past two years. They aren't like best friends, like before, but they aren't enemies either.

He also said that the female feud is something the media (not only the media) decided to monetize with, bc some boys didnt get along well either. I think that's all we can know about it. I just think that we can't 100% trust in someone's book. I love them both and it's a shame they may not be friends just bc of some crap.

Basically, this just proves that there was absolutely NO GOOD REASON for the writers to completely derail Rachel’s and Santana’s individual characters and friendship together with that stupid understudy feud for like five episodes of S5. See, all the potential they wasted for the OG Glee girls to actually be good friends with each other, particularly Rachel, so that they could constantly rehash these increasingly ridiculous feuds between them fueled by their own petty arrogance and jealousy in regards to each other? I honestly believe that Ryan Murphy hated women, and that he has no idea how most of them actually interact with each other in real life. Most of us aren’t this arrogant, petty, and rude towards each other, especially not after high school. You want proof. Name one female friendship on Glee that wasn’t somehow spoiled at one point or another by one and/or both of them betraying the other, aggressively competing, and/or being jealous. The only relatively pure female friendship on GLEE I can think of is the Mercedes/Quinn friendship in S1, and the writers barely focused on that one anyway.
