I think Kurt is one of the characters that grows the most throughout the show and after season one he became one of my favorite's. Him and Blaine definitely have their ups and downs, but overall I really love them together.

It wasn't the first time this has happened, but this was done live on set. Normally, they record the songs separately and let the actor lip sync to the performance (as you sure have noticed). This being a very pivotal and emotional moment in the show, Darren actually wanted to do it live so badly that he got to do it. It took some effort to convince the producer, though.

I love your reactions! I believe this was one of the one's done live. I think parts of Chris Colfer are injected more into the character Kurt as time goes on and he definitely develops into a very likeable character. Meanwhile, Darren's character is a great character, but with lots of insecurities that don't become apparent until later on in the series, which some people hate, but I find very genuine and real to life. You should watch Darren in American Crime Story the Assassination of Gianni Versace. He won the Emmy, Critic's Choice, SAG, and Golden Globe award for that performance :)

You should definitely watch season 2-6, Kurt really grows after season 1 into a very likeable character. Also the chemistry between kurt and blaine is great to watch so I think you should definitely give it a chance👍

I'm such a sucker for people not being able to sing perfectly due to strong emotion and unfortunately that's not very common in glee since most of it is pre recorded. but that's why this is one of the best scenes in the show, in my opinion. it's so raw. darren was really able to make teenage dream into a sad song, what a guy

I think you should consider reacting to the "Rumour Has It/Someone Like You" performance from Glee (I personally think it was one of the best covers done on Glee). The song features the powerhouse voices of Amber Riley (Mercedes) and Naya Rivera (Santana). Mercedes and Santana performing together either in duets or in group performance were always a treat. Some other notable duets/group performances that featured Mercedes and Santana worth reacting to are: - "The Boy Is Mine" - "River Deep, Mountain High" - "Survivor/I Will Survive" - "Shake It Out" - "Doo Wop (That Thing)"

They did some original songs! Actually two of the original songs were written by Darren himself - This time and Rise if I remember the 2nd name correctly. This time is definetly worth a look into :) They did few more like Light up the world, Loser like me or Pretending :) If you want to watch Darren Criss really acting, you should check out American Crime Story season 2. Every season has a totally different story, so don't worry about it, you should totally check it out :)

Kurts always been my favourite but his development during the series is actually huge and Blaine is a big part of that, I’d say Darren did just fine😂😂 Darren does another acoustic emotional cover called “against all odds” later on the show, you should definitely check it out!! And glee does have many original songs, Darren being responsible for 2 of them “rise” and “this time” which was nominated for an Emmy, both are so worth checking out as well:)

Oh yeah Blaine became a main character on Glee - he was a huge deal lol. He was only supposed to be a side character that appeared for a few episodes originally. I might’ve missed it but have you seen the original Teenage Dream from Glee? Blaine sings it to Kurt the first time he meets him in season 2 and it’s very different! I don’t think you’d like the show lol. But you should keep reacting to songs because there’s a lot of good ones! Also Kurt is absolutely my favorite character but to each their own lol. Honestly every character on the show was written so inconsistently and badly at times that sometimes it’s hard to pick a favorite.

So this performance preludes the Don't Speak performance, it's from S4. Kurt is actually one of the best in Glee by the end. His character really grows from season to season.

This was the same episode as Don’t speak btw, just before that song actually. This is live too, which is amazing, only Darren and amber riley did live songs I believe, apart from I think one live group performance in season 4. The recorded version of this one ( season 4 version ) is also really good in a different way and then there’s the season 2 version when Kurt and Blaine first meet, which I love too. If you don’t like over the top drama, I don’t think you’d 100% enjoy the show, you could react to a lot of songs if you’d prefer. I’d definitely recommend Paradise by the dashboard light, cough syrup, mine, not the boy next door, being alive and loads more. I’d even say watch the season 2 version of teenage dream to see the differences.

Glee DID do some original songs, some of which from season 6 were written by none other than Darren! ^__^ (See: "Rise" and "This Time", both SO good! They had originals in earlier seasons too, including some really funny joke ones, but of the more legit ones, Darrens are definitely the best imo haha)

I think you should give the rest of the series a try mostly because if you ARE a Darren Criss fan, there's so much more to see from him. If I'm not mistaken he ended up having the second most solos in the show. (Lea Michele I believe had the most). And I agree with you about the Kurt character. He was my least favorite and he never got better for me. They made him too whiney in my opinion. The actor Chris Colfer is much better than that. But having said that, the storyline of the trials and tribulations of these two characters is pretty good. As it is for some others in the show. But I would recommend to give the rest of the seasons a try. The mashups are awesome. The accapella arrangements and performances are amazing. It's an intentionally silly show with intentional moral driven storylines and some of the most amazing singing and arrangements.

Not really, she's a friend, they were just showing everyones reaction to this performance because it was way too sad and emotional and they realized something was wrong with Blaine (Darren). And yes, this was sad and followed by a very dramatic moment

this comment is kind of funny though because one time when blaine (darren) and kurt were broken up rachel (the woman) got drunk and kissed blaine at a party and blaine reciprocated because he didn't know if he was bi or not the next day he said 'no, yup i'm totally gay' but yeah, both kurt and blaine are gay so nothing more than that would ever happen

I wasn't a fan of this version. My favorite version of this was season 2 when Kurt met the Warblers and Blaine for the first time. Darren is captain of the Warblers at this point and he takes the lead in this performance kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWHNYmZpppZ8pNk
