Honestly, I know Rachel was horrible to Santana in the earlier half of season 5 but I kind of... not excuse it, but I take it with a grain of salt, because Santana literally did everything in her power to push Rachel's buttons and it was literally weeks after Finn died. In this scene, after the outburst, Rachel stands by the sink in the girl's bathroom in tears. Mercedes comes in and sees her. She stands next to Rachel. She says to her, "well, that Santana rant really brought you back." Rachel tells Mercedes, "you don't even know what it's like in New York. Santana and I were close for like, a minute, but, now it's like, every single day, it's exactly that. But now, its like, no matter where I go, or what i do, I'm just back in high school again." She cries after she speaks. Mercedes says, "you know, every time a producer, or a agent tells me that I'm not good enough or that I'm not ready, God, it's like Santana saying it......or Puck or Quinn, or anybody that's ever been here that made me feel small. Sometimes it's even you." "Like one of your high school ghosts." Rachel says. "It's not necessarily a bad thing." Mercedes tells her. "I just use all that stuff and let it motivate me." Rachel goes, "it just makes me sad that you would think that I'm one of your tormentors. I guess i just.....i don't know, i had this.....feeling it was always you and me against everyone else." "You were never like them." Mercedes says. "You was always just the best damn singer that I've ever heard. And you know, i want you to be all big, and rich, and famous. I just want to be richer, and more bigger, and more famous." Mercedes and Rachel chuckle. Rachel says, "don't you think Beyoncé and Barbara feel that way?" "Girl, i don't know." Mercedes responds. "Ask me when i get my first golden record, okay?" This makes Rachel and Mercedes laugh. Rachel says, "well, i mean, i will have one, and then my first Tony Award then." "So, come here." Mercedes tells her. Then they both share a hug and smile.

There was a clear reason why Santana did not tell Rachel she was auditioning for the job. She knew that Rachel would try and sabotage her before her audition. Most people would put in a good word for their friends or remain silent and neutral, but does anyone really believe Rachel would have done that? People like Mercedes and Santana have always been confident in their talents. They may have had insecurities and known that someone was damn good, maybe even better,but they were the types to always think they could be better too, and that if someone was an amazing singer that they had to try and be more amazing. Rachel wanted to silence the talent not step up to the plate and beat them head on. The perfect example of this was Sunshine Corazon. At her audition she was killing it. The entire Glee club was cheering and pumping their fists and smiling during her performance. Rachel sat there in fear and so did her minion Finn. Mercedes and Santana were enough competition for her and she had Mr. Schue convinced that neither could do what she could do. She was passive aggressive often and downright aggressive sometimes. How can people not see that. I can certainly give more examples easily. She was part of the reason why I never saw Finn as the perfect good guy so many made him out to be. He cosigned so much of her behavior. Rachel was mean and used the fact that she was bullied to be a bully to others at times. Glee was full of bullies, from the teachers to the students.Nobody escaped it on the show, and most of them dished it out at times. Rachel and Finn were no different. People like to point out Santana because she could absolutely annihilate you with her words. Probably learned it from her teacher and mentor Sue, who was a bully too but everyone acted as if it was hilarious. Mr. Schue planted drugs in Finn's locker and made his entire Glee club Rachel's bitch until Emma called him out on it. They all were seriously twisted and flawed.

Mercedes may have had her diva-ish ways, but she sure had a kind heart. I think she was nicer than Rachel and had the better singing voice - Amber Riley was the best singer on the show! Ok this dialogue is just bullshit. Why does Mercedes say that Santana, Quinn and Puck made her feel small? Mercedes and Quinn had such a wonderful friendship in season 1, Quinn saved her from bulimia, she wanted her in the hospital when she had the baby, Mercedes hosted Quinn in her home when her parents kicked her out, they also had that christian club in season 3. On the other hand, I don't remember Puck being a jerk with Merceds, they even dated for a short period. It was Rachel the one who constantly stole her the spotlight, Mercedes even left the New Directions because of her. Mercedes has always teamed with Santana against Rachel, just think about the Troubletones thing, and they had a lot of alchemy on stage. So this dialogue is totally inconsistent.

Sorry for the long rant, but here it comes. To be honest, I love Santana. I hate Rachel. She's always putting people below her, saying she's better than everyone else, when honestly, everyone else was and is just as talented as her. I have said it before, and I'll say it a thousand times more: She is a snobby, spoiled, self-centered, selfish, little kid who thinks everything is about her. She can't be happy for anyone else but herself and whenever someone else gets hurt or feels mistreated (i.e Tina when she wanted a solo), they don't consoled, but when Rachel gets hurt, people want to feel bad for her. And why is this show always more focused on her, anyways? This Glee, Rachel Berry Show. There are other Glee members who graduated and we almost never focus on them. It's all Rachel this and Rachel that. Whenever someone wants to give her a wake-up call (which is something she clearly needs) she wants to be a ll butt hurt about it, and still acts the same way. I understand she wants to be famous and worked hard or whatever. But everyone else worked hard, too. I don't feel bad for her, and I never will because she needs to be talked to and pushed sometimes. I thought her Cassandra lady was going to be the only one mean to her in New York, but she wasn't. I'm glad for Santana. She isn't afraid to say what she thinks, and I agree with her. Rachel is a terrible person.

She felt insecure that her bully in Santana got the understudy role, and Santana wanted to do something. She copied Rachel on DROMP and didn't tell her. Santana and Rachel are both in the wrong.
