@zoroarkzeppelin66844 жыл бұрын
That’s understandable though. If I saw an angry guy telling a woman to pick up her shirt. And I didn’t even know this woman was faking pregnancy. I would come to the conclusion that he was trying to force her to engage in “inappropriate activities” without her consent. I don’t know if your mom was thinking that. Terri: I’m pregnant! Doctor: Actually it’s a hysterical pregnancy. You’re not actually pregnant. Terri: *decides to fake it by wearing belly pads, faking doctor appointments, convincing a confused and scared Quinn to give up her baby to Terri (while also not even helping Quinn pay doctor bills or clothing mind you), and then being shocked about her husband unraveling these webs of lies* Why are you so upset with me? It’s like you’re not even the man I loved.
@c.eb.1216 Жыл бұрын
If you look into the possible causes of hysterical pregnancy, you feel a tad bit more compassion for her because you see what's at the root of all this behavior. I see her deceptive behavior as a continued manifestation of the psychological factors that caused her delusion. It's all sprouting from the same place. That being said, she still should have had enough self control and concern for how she'd affect others to find a better way to deal with it.

If I was Terri I would have told Will she lost the baby. That probably would have saved the marriage, making Will and Terri have something to feel together. Even though it was a sad feeling
@hisserenehighness59302 жыл бұрын
Definitely! I would have said I lost it, and I couldn't accept it, and when Kendra suggested the lie, it seemed all so easy and that for as long as he believed it, I could believe it too and for that fleeting moment, I was rid of the pain. That I never meant to hurt him, I was just trying to heal myself and protect him from the pain I'd suffered. That would have saved the marriage. And in all fairness, it's not necessarily lies. Even though the pregnancy was hysterical, it was real to her, and she did experience a loss.

Yes, but also keep in mind how awfully she treated him during the whole "pregnancy". She broke him down, insulted him, made him do whatever she wanted while using the "baby" as leverage to keep him like a puppet on her strings. True, her psycho sister said she should keep lying and to take Quinn's baby, but she said yes. No matter how scared she was, she still chose to lie to her husband to keep up the facade rather than tell him the truth. Hell! She could even have waited till her period and staged a miscarriage earlier on, or faked it. At least that would have been a better lie than faking an entire pregnancy, pressuring a teenage girl into giving away her baby, and then lying to her husband that "yeah this is totally your baby" and by extension lying to the child themself. I don't doubt for a second that had she not been caught she would live that lie her ENTIRE life

Before the confrontation scene even happens we can see what a manipulative and abusive person Terri is. Will calls out to her asking if she’s seen his pocket square but she doesn’t respond. When he enters the kitchen, without even looking up from her cooking, she insults him saying the pocket square wouldn’t look good. Showing that she did hear Will but chose to ignore him because he’s not worth her time, (in her mind ). The confrontation scene just further proves it when she first tries to gaslit him, then when her lie is literally proven she immediately goes full victim mode, trying to pin the blame on Will because he finally felt better about himself and even saying their marriage works just because Will doesn’t feel good himself. Kudos to the actress because she made me hate Terri so so much!
