Great photos Gary. Liked the finished shot of the slow shutter speed of the waterfall with trees in focus. Was up there a few months ago staying on a caravan site just down road. As a relative begginer to photography, imagine what i was like in that area with all thise possible compositions etc, walked down the rocky patch and spent ages playing around with camera by the falls. Was like a kid in a sweet shop😀 Thanks for bringing back memories with this video and some stunning shots.

Some good results there at my Nice Place™. Funnily enough I bumped into Jennings lurking beneath exactly that tree by the river a few weeks ago - dunno how, just got chatting and wound up giving him an impromptu tour of the rest of the circuit and up to the memorial viewpoint. Hello Gary, greetings from Athens, Greece! This is just to say a big thanks for the great company and inspiration you provide! Having been active in other genres of photography for quite a few years in a row (even in archaeological photography, to name the weirdest lol) you have motivated me to begin rediscovering landscapes in my home country. So it has been all Wellies, tripod and hiking lately :) Thanks again, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Great New Year full of beautiful images!

It been hard this year for the colour changes in the northwest, as the different trees changing at different times, so you get half that have drop leaves before others starting, did get one I Wales on my way back home from work, just like you had to stop. Great video..

Hi Gary. Loved the video; great production and images. On a different note, I'm as guilty as any of accepting the 'Rule of Thirds' as a genuine concept. I discovered however, that it's actually one of those things that illustrates how something becomes 'fact' through word of mouth repetition and by that means passes beyond the point that it's questioned. Until I did. It was a bit of a search to trace the RoT back to its root - you have to first wade through oceans of online treacle extolling the virtues of the RoT, which reveal what an elusive little wotsit the truth can be but in essence we can all thank one John Thomas Smith, who in 1797 succeeded in completely stuffing up his interpretation of remarks previously made by Sir Joshua Reynolds in 1783 about light and dark areas in painting. JTS really lived up to the 'John Thomas' part of his name by his masterful and complete failure of understanding in coining the RoT phrase and thus saddling art and photography with a dead end building block for composition for the 225 years that have followed. Quite an achievement. The RoT has set in so completely that digital camera manufacturers helpfully add RoT grids to their products and every corner of the photographic press repeat it on an endless loop. If ever there was an area of photography that needed revision, it's composition. Stop the RoT.

At 4:56 B&W photo, for the benefit of art the tree in the middle should be cut down, it spoils over all composition.
