Glen Affric is one of the most spectacular locations in Scotland for autumn landscape and woodland photography. The autumn colours in Glen Affric this year have been on another level. It's an area that I've only visited once before though, and the location I visited on this morning, in the perfect conditions for autumn woodland photography, was an area I was not familiar with. Despite this trip highlighting for me the need to scout locations beforehand, rather than turning up in fantastic conditions without having any idea where to go, I still think this was a successful trip and I came away with some autumn landscape and woodland photographs that I was pleased with.

Well lush Mr Bose! You got lucky with the conditions but it looks like you made the most of them so forget that "I need time and poise" thought. Likewise if you accidently stumble on a scene shot by someone else, it's hardly plagiarism, just look at it that SB just stumbled on it to 🙂 Cracking shot of the birch at the end, oh and well done taking time out to mention being careful and the rewilding.

Hi Sam, I think you did a fantastic job of photographing the "Baxter Trees!" Im going to Glen Affric from Caerphilly end of October and would appreciate any hints on how to find them from the River car Park as they are definite to aim for from my point of view, especially with added mist! Cheers. P.S. Great to see the pubcast back on, seasons changing again, its like the arrival of Autumn.....

Enjoyed the video as usual Sam. The conditions you had were amazing. I wouldn't apologise for taking an image that other people have taken because you saw the shot and took it and if not you wouldn't have it. Stunning image's as usual and the last one was amazing. Look forward to the next one mate.

I am speechless. I guess there are some places that just have an emotional impact on us and after seeing Glen Affric through your eyes this place had that effect on me. I first came across your channel after you popped up when searching New Zealand on youtube and you did a really good job of showcasing NZ. I'm a Kiwi photographer who moved to Ireland mid 2021. My Irish wife and fellow mad person with a camera, are planning a trip to Scotland in the future and now seeing your video I know where I will definitely go. You video is just wonderful. I also wonder what the place would look like when the heather is in flower? Thanks for posting the video.

Thank you very much Tony! This really is a wonderful place, I'm slightly kicking myself for not spending more time here earlier! Hannah and I visited a few years ago, but we went to a different part, and there's so much more to explore. I'll certainly be spending more time here in the future. I hope you make it over soon, it will definitely be worth it, and I'm sure it will be amazing when the heather is in flower too!

As per usual Sam your photography stands out, the way you try to make others be more environmentally aware when in these locations is very typical of one who cares. One or two outstanding images in your bag from this trip. Take care my friend keep taking your pictures of your vision a unique picture seeing Sam.

Hi Sam: I loved the images that you have created during this video. While Simon may have been there before and created some impressive images, your experiences and images within the woodland are unique to you. After all, no two images are exactly the same. As soon as your click on the shutter that image can never be perfectly re-created. Your final image of the golden birch is spectacular. This certainly gives a new perspective to the 'lone tree' shot that everyone is seeking. Keep well . . . Keith (Canada).
@BosePhotography
@BosePhotography Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Keith! Absolutely agree, I don’t tend to go out with the purpose of trying to recreate images that have been taken before, but it is nice to be able to out your own ‘stamp’ on well known images sometimes, especially when conditions are special, like they were in this case! I hope you are both doing well. S

Reminds a lot of what is done in music these days. You record digitally, bounce out to analog, and then convert back to digital. Get the analog “benefits” while ease of digital process. Cool idea. My question is, going forward if you wanted to do this, would you consider doing the whole process yourself?

Some lovely images of the trees Sam, but for me the very last shot on the way home was my favourite. Incidentally you mentioned 'Headless Chicken Mode' but I can't find it on my R6 (just the usual Tv, Av, C1,C2 etc) is it unique to the R5?😄

🤣 Haha! That’s got me in stitches 😂. Yeah, sorry Mark, the headless chicken mode only came with the latest firmware update for the R5. it’s really annoying though, I can’t seem to get out of it!
