I heard Ashley say Glen was struggling with Alzheimer's during the tour so she very intentionally stayed close by his side (as he was aware of his ailment and feared he'd embarrass himself during performances and interviews), but she used her presence to steady him and step into the conversation if he felt flustered or got his thoughts tangled. Very sweet. There's an old saying, "there's nobody more loyal than daddy's little girl."

I saw him play on that tour, at The Pavilion Theatre if memory serves… it was a privilege to watch a living legend, and no matter that he was not in his heydey, he and his daughter put on a great show. A night to remember 😊

I loved Glen's music. Probably my favorite was Gentle on my mind. His daughter is beautiful and I hope she will savor these times with her father.

The American South has produced some of the greatest song-writers, guitar players and just plain kick-ass artists . So much came out of that unique southern culture and experiences, a lot of it quite humorous. You can tell a country boy's music ninety percent of the time.

I started listening to Glenn Cambell when I was 8yrs... When country wasn't cool, especially in San Antonio TX. However, that did not stop me. Thanks Mr Campbell you will be truly missed.

What a musical magician. He’s songs span every human emotion and sentiment. Such a humble human being. Rest In Peace Glen Campbell 👌

I like the way his daughter, Ashley watches over him, whilst still giving him bunches of room to be and take risks with what is happening inside his brain. How lucky are we to see him performing fully with his talent, partially because of her meticulous, yet not invasive care. Onya, Ashley. He must have raised you well :-)

Interesting how together he was when he played - complex songs, tons of complicated verses - nailed. Glad they were able to do this together, it sure looked therapeutic for him. Missed.

@@dantwomey4215 not just in your country neither but how crazy the people have sadly become in this world and to manipulate people and greed along the way, thank God for Glen Campbell and anyone who marks down this video clearly hasn't got a clue and another legend in my view is Terry Wogan hosting this show

I was raised on church music. Mom was in the adult choir and was a soloist. She did a lot of weddings and funerals back then. When I turned 13 I decided that I was then a teenager, so I should rebel - and I did it with music. I immediately fell in love with Glen Campbell's singing voice and his wonderful instrumental talent. To do everything he did without reading music was just beyond my comprehension! I loved him on the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour, and I was willing to give up anything I needed to in order to be allowed to watch it. When his Greatest Hits album came out I asked Mom why - and she said that not everyone bought all of his albums like I did. I can still hear his beautiful voice and his guitar playing with Larry McNeely's banjo picking in my mind. Peace to all.

Had the pleasure of seeing Glen just before he had to quit touring...the man was 72 years old and had the clearest , sweetest voice I've ever heard...such a shame he has to leave what he does best because of his terrible disease...there will never be another Glen Campbell.

I just heard this song for the first time a few months ago. Now in my 50's, I have spent most of my life as a tramp ironworker/welder; booming out to jobs all over the US and Alaska. North in the summer, south in winter, always chasing overtime. Working months without a day off and on layoff day, heading up to the north woods to spend a few weeks fishing, getting drunk and chasing local women; before heading back out on the road. High rises, nuke plants, steel mills, bridges, north slope, pipelines, and more. Laid up in a hotel in Rapid City SD alone and in a motel room for four months recovering from a bad fall; and lots of other injuries. Married, divorced and finally gave up on that. Too busted up to go back to the field, now I teach 'em how to weld in a college, and I have to learn how to be in one place and gather moss ... and I wish I knew a woman like the cat in the song ... someone who would be gentle on my mind!

iw63boomer -- He was one of a kind wasn't he? Sometimes we get so bogged down in life only sticking to what we know, unwilling or not attempting to try something different. I'm african american female and I appreciate the soulfulness and beauty of country music. My mom loved country music as well. I probably got it from her. My brothers and sisters won't go out of their way to listen to country and don't know what they are missing 😊. This man was a treasure, talented beyond words. He will be missed. Thank you for sharing your story. 😊 This one makes me smile every time I watch it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4XOq35vpb2An9E
