I watched the I'll be me documentary last week..i had recorded it a while ago but as i cared for my mom with alzheimer's for 7 yrs i had to pick my moment to watch it.. but in the middle of lockdown was probably NOT my best choice.. my dad was American..he met my mom ..who was Welsh... on a blind date in November 1943 in Worcester England... they got married on feb 17th 1944.. my dad had 2 days leave as they were doing 'training '.. then on 6th of June 1944..today funnily enough. .he landed on Omaha beach on the DDay landings..my mom worked in a munitions factory anyway i digress.. my dad came from dirt poor farmers in Michigan. .he loved country and swing so i grew up loving both. . Always loved Glens music..he could put so much emotion into those lyrics without it seemed any effort..you believed him..that he had 'been there'.. always had a crush on him although he was 20 yrs older. I cried through most of this glorious documentary. .i say glorious because it celebrated the man and his talent...his fight to stay in the moment..not give in to this godawful disease. It was funny..sad. uplifting. .sad again. .and wondrous that he couldn't hold a conversation with you but he could remember all the lyrics and that wonderful guitar talent. To see his children with him on that tour was lovely too... i will watch it again sometime. Hopefully when I'm less depressed. .Glen..I am missing you and your talent. .but you are now free of that disease and I'm sure you're entertaining everyone with that silky. .sultry. .emotional voice...🇬🇧🌈🙏⛪💔

Was that Paul McCartney in the crowd? I think so. Confession: in the 60s I was obsessed with English groups. Heard Glen on radio, liked his stuff, but didn't go ape over it. Galveston was just a sad cowboy song; I missed the point completely. Wichita Lineman? Nice, pretty, Now at age 69 yrs. I'm still a Beatlemaniac, but I've finally matured and absolutely love this man's music and talent. Thanks, Mr. Campbell. Quite the guitarist, by the way. Top 5 in my book.

She made him - forced him - to do 152 dates so she could make a fortune. It was very sad to see him lost and frustrated when the teleprompter went out and he was up there n0to knwoing what the hell was going on. "I'll be me" documents it all. IT WASN'T FOR HIM!
