Glen is an amazing person. I actually emailed him a few years back to tell him about my 6 year old daughter (6 at the time) singing his songs all the time. He emailed me back after about a day. It was funny, he apologized for any "bad words" my daughter might have heard him say. Its amazing what music of this calliber can do for you when you are going through a rough time in life (ie divorce).Ever since jr high, TTWS has been at the top of every playlist I can put together. Nothing better.

Look at the respect these guys have for each other. Listen to the beauty of the lyrics and the majesty of the music they're making happen. It rarely gets better than this.

You are so right. Bands with 5 and 6 members and all the instruments in the world just can't touch what these 2 men do effortlessly.

Wow, I love this version of windmills. Probably my favorite song for Dulcinea. Toad's the reason I started playing guitar and writing music.
@Beachsidecrew14 жыл бұрын
Lady Dulcinea hairs are gold, her forehead Elysian fields, her eyebrows rainbows, her eyes suns, her cheeks roses, her lips coral, her teeth pearls, her neck alabaster, her bosom marble, her hands ivory, her fairness snow, and what modesty conceals from sight such, I think and imagine, as rational reflection can only extol, not compare..... I'm still raiding windmills, even though compliments rarely work deez days. Great Song.

your comment describes my experience also. but I was 20 years old and loved all types of music when I purchased FEAR. Never heard of the band with the funny name but the cover art was cool so I bought it to check it out. almost immediately their music, the lyrics, everything... just had an effect on me like no other music ever had before. it still does. everytime they released another album I would try and not have huge expectations because surely FEAR was a fluke and no way they could top it. Then Dulcinea, then Coil, etc etc. These guys aren't human, can't be. The impact they have had on my life... yes, just like you wrote.

I just discovered talented & soulful Glen Phillips while seeking a Willie Porter tune, Paper Airplanes. What a gift the universe gave me today. I am blessed to hear and share in the moment. Thanks Glen for posting your wonderful songs with us. Reminds me Joni Mitchell lyrics... "He played real good ... for free" Thanks and many blessings!!! If you will be on the road this summer, maybe somewhere during our Road Trip, we will catch up with you and get to hear you live!!

Glen, Am bad with names anymore - Sorry. I saw Toad in 87? Your 1st album had come out, and I believe, L.A. was the last stop on your tour, promoting it. Dave, your sound guy, is a friend , so I was at the Melrose theater during sound check and again that night for the show. Any chance you know how to contact Dave? I loved your music then, but I am blown away by how much more elegant and moving it is when performed a cappella: this was staggeringly beautiful in its hearfelt simplicity.

but wait a sec... his guitar is still tuned down a full step. the way he's playing, it SHOULD be capo'd on 4, not 2, so i was at least partially right.
