wow, i have just come back from Vanuatu, crewed a yacht from NZ. I found Vanuatu fantastic. i fly back up 0n the 15 August to bring the yacht back. I hope you enjoyed your time there.

I understand now why the Fijian people who fly to NZ to work in the Kiwifruit industry etc are so blown away by our country and all it has to offer. So different to how they were all raised. I've not been to Fiji, but have been to Papua New Guinea three times. One visit was to a remote island and was pretty scary for this Kiwi. Thankfully my youngest son was there. Hope you are both well, wherever you might be.😊👍👋💜

Small planes = plane lette :) I just noticed you both have blue eyes. Your sleeping arrangements and lifestyle was how our bach life was like when I was younger in NZ , not flash but functional and we had fun. This was my observation when I lived in the northern hemisphere - you are more industrious and driven because of the extreme cold and very seasonal lifestyle. You needed to make 'hay while the sun shines' or you will starve. In the South Pacific we can grow food all year around and just put a bit more clothing on when it gets cooler, so not so industrious and driven because you can get by and survive.

Same as here in Fiji...if you come to a island or village as a guest. You need to take a gift to the chief.its a protocol as in the olden days you cannot just wander into another villlage anyhow.
