Same as my South Pasadena post, I visited Glendale too. Very clean. So many eatery options. Also, loved The Americana at Brand and all its shops. Beautiful. Also, the Glendale Galleria mall is huge! So many selection of shops there. Great videos btw!

You went to Portos! Nice choice, but you missed out on Damon's next door. We drive from anaheim to have dinner there. Best steak and actually quite reasonable. I dont drink, but they say that Damon's has the best Mai Tai in L.A. Glendale is surprisingly unlike a lot of cities in Southern California. No filth on the streets, and I have yet to see the unfortunate homeless people there. We enjoy going there and Pasadena as well. I used to live in Alhambra, and worked in Silver Lake, so Los Feliz, Atwater Village, and Glendale were stomping grounds for me.

Hello from Maine. Still Christmas in California. I grew up in Glendale in the 60's, lived and worked there also in the 80's and 90's. I moved after the Northridge Earthquake. Most cities get dirtier over time, Glendale has stayed clean and even grew cleaner from what I can see. I was homeless in Glendale for a time but worked to end all that misery. Glendale only had a handful of homeless people I'd run into while out there, too. I'd guess the homeless from Glendale wouldn't feel like they belong there anymore and just moved on to where the homeless are easily accepted. I long to visit Glendale in order to see if I could run into anyone that I knew. It's all changed a whole lot since the 60's-90's eras though. So much new has been built, so much old torn down, yet not all. I recognize the old landmarks still and Damon's really did have great steaks, and a huge aquarium, if they still got it from what I recall.

@Willoughby1888 yes Damons still has great steaks! You're right about it getting cleaner. There has been a lot of changes, especially the Americana being built. I used to work in Silverlake, and my coworkers and I used to go to lunch to different restaurants on Brand Blvd. It has changed, but in many ways for the better! Yes, Glendale is a vibrant and continually evolving city within the greater Los Angeles area. The newer Americana On Brand outdoor mall has helped to revitalize the area, too. Of course, the original Porto's bakery is still a huge crowd pleaser with its many affordable delights. Did you used to live in Glendale or in Los Angeles at one time. @@SWExplore It's seems that I've lived and worked in 2places at the same time. I lived in L.A. and worked in Glendale and Glenoaks at the same time for 20yrs. I retired in 2008. I really miss Gendale, Burbank and Pasadena.

Glendale is an incorporated city within the county of Los Angeles. No, it is not a high crime city. It is an extremely safe city to live in and visit. It is expensive though.

@@SWExplore да вот не знаю, я выбираю штат для жизни, но не уверен что хочу в Калифорнию, у многих в видео говорится что там очень высокие налоги, дикая жара летом, много хомлесс, легализованная марихуана, грязь и очень дорогое жилье. Даже компании уезжают в Тексас. Пока присматриваюсь к северной Калифорнии, орегону, Техасу. Ещё Юта и Сиэтл хороши, но там холодно
