I was born and raised here in kennewick and worked in all 3 cities, heres the honesty coming from someone who has nothing to gain from this comment: starter homes are well over $400k unless youre getting a crack house or one thats way too small Nothing to do, if you have kids or a teenager they will be bored, theres literally nothing Crime has gotten so out of hand its insane, numerous violent crimes spring up in the news each month, my car has been broken into at my different apartments more times than I have fingers Racism definetely exists and im speaking as a white man Its either too hot with our summers going well into the 110° or too cold going into the negatives Its not worth living here unless youre a real estate agent or working for hanford, if you arent doing either of those you wont be able to save money Lots of dry heat and smoke with nearby fires People dont know how to drive here, i lived in yakima for a little over a year at one point and never saw an accident, over here people are swerving in and out of lanes constantly A ton of passive aggresive people a ton of karens Homelessness is getting so out of hand its insane, its like california dropped off a bunch of meth heads in kennewick and pasco Cost of living has sky rocketed because people from seattle moved here cause its not as bad as there and people from california moved here because its not as bad as there, causing big corporations to buy out apartment complexs and doubling prices. I had a 1 bedroom apartment go from $600 a month straight to $1470 under new management about 4 years ago. People ive talked to have rent over $2k a month Bills: Gas prices currently: $3.70 My rent 2 bedroom apartment is going to be going up to $1700 in a few months Electricity $80-$100 depending on time of year This place sucks, id rather live in idaho but i cant save the money to move my family there with how expensive it is here, people i have met who moved here all end up hating it the only good thing i like is the fishing season and thats it.

Trees: This place reminds me of Egypt where it’s so lush on each side of the river and then desolate around that. Winds: Take some of those tumbleweeds blowing around and make chandeliers out of them. Seen them sell for $1000! Lack of things to do: only an issue if you’re a teenager looking for “teenage” activities. You know what I mean. Traffic: Try surviving in Orlando! Took me an hour to get thru town to work on a good day!

The best thing about the Tri Cities is that it's not like Seattle.

Seattle is probably proud to be nothing like the tri cities

Not to mention the fact that we sit in a valley so you get all the smoke collecting during wildfire season in late August through September.
@GlenGosch Жыл бұрын
Yeah, that seems to be a theme - not just with the Tri, but any valley in the West/Northwest part of the country. It could be a local fire, or stuff blowing up from California or down from Canada. I am working on a video about the actual worst things about Tri Cities, and smoke will be included. All in all, I still like it here - not planning on moving anytime soon, but yeah, that smoke can be something else at times.

That town is a sinkhole. Leave while you can. People are not nice, they're assholes.

We'll be retiring there in a few years to be closer to my wife's family. Here in pizza capital of the US -- New Haven, CT -- the Italian food can be spectacular. I know already that I'll find no good pies in the Tri Cities.
@Providence83 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, there's a place called Monteroso's which is decent Italian, with the only other options being Casa Mio or Bella Vita or... "Belle Rosa" maybe, I can't remember what it's called. For pizza the best is Rocco's or Roundtable, I reckon. If you love Mexican food though, _primo_ shit. You'll stumble across a random food truck and have the best damn carne asada burrito in your life *on a Tuesday,* like it was any other day.

Monterossos “italian” is not good food. The food is not good. And food in the tri cities good food at least is few and far between. Good luck with the move.

How is the winds compared to Southern California Santa Anas? How are the environmental allergies up there?
@GlenGosch Жыл бұрын
Some days it can be comparable to the Santa Ana's. As far as allergies: depends on what you're allergic to. In Spring, when things are blooming, I take Allegra most of the season. The rest of the year it's pretty mild for me.

I came here from Sacramento ca and the food is terrible. I tried a sushi place in richland and they gave me boiled chicken with soy sauce. Dry rolls my family were the only people there at 630pm. Resturant rating was 4.4 stars lol

The gangs and violent crimes... The food scene sucks! No chic fila, no Cracker Barrel, no In and Out Burger, No Chilis ...Pasco is a place you love or hate especially if you speak no spanish...
@Providence83 Жыл бұрын
Cracker Barrel and Chili's? Ok, boomer. Pretty sure Kennewick _has_ a Chick-fil-A too, so your knowledge is as outdated as your tastes.

How come you didn't explain anything about Hanford, and where they leave and bury that nuclear junk. Why most people have cancer in Richland WA.

My wife is a travel nurse and we lived in the Tri-cities for three years. We loved the area, but be careful where you move because there are a lot of brush fires. There are are some areas around Finley, Benton City, and Prosser that seem to burn every summer.

WORST DRIVERS ON THE PLANET!! 🤦🏻♀️
@stevewilams8673 ай бұрын
Lots of high paying jobs in the tri cities. Downside to that is most of the homes are above 250k easily. Wind blows alot. Allergies suck. Food scene blows more than the wind. Nothing really to go do. Closest trees are outside of walla walla or yakima. No decent camping around tri cities. Or hiking. Short treks on a slowwww moving yakima river. Worst drivers i have ever encountered. Lots of fishing. But the fishing is usually closed early clear up here. If you have a boat it’s a good place to live. Cows. Corn. Potatoes. Wine. Lots of crappy dive bars. An old shopping mall. Tri cities is basically some suburbs around a few trailer parks. Divided by used car lots divided by train tracks and an irrigation canal. Summers are hot. And the smoke gets jammed up here, Winters suck fog acts the same as the smoke. Did i mention the drivers suck here?
@dan-h2g8 ай бұрын
Drivers totally stoned all the time. Like gage me with a spoon.
