Glenn Greenwald! Mad game on my boy here. Corporate media hacks don't know what to do with a guy like this. An actual journalist doing his job.

When a security surveillance apparatus falls under the control of one branch of the government such as the Executive, it completely destroys the separation of powers provided for within the constitution.

This isn't about "the American people" when it's practically everyone in the world who the US spied on. What gives the American public the right to decide this?

Better still, lets put a government "advisor" in the office of every media company to decide what is allowed to be published :-)

The NSA structure is 1 MILLION or 1.5 MILLION square feet. and it is projected to cost from $1.5 BILLION to $2 BILLION when finished in September 2013. One report suggested that it will cost another $2 BILLION for hardware, software, and maintenance. The completed facility is expected to require 65 megawatts, costing about $40 MILLION per year. wiki/Utah_Data_Center Can you say sequester? Can you say not enough money for schools? Can you say austerity measures? Can you say 1984?

"Not enough money for schools." The govt. schools have got more funding every year since the early 70's. The fed. govt. spends three times as much money now on schooling (it's not education in any real sense of the word) when adjusted for dollar debasement (price inflation) than it did 40-years ago. Result? It hasn't resulted in an educated population. I favor home-schooling, private schools, individual initiative, and use of on-line education. The current model is a wretched failure.

I looked up Sudbury School. It is very interesting. They seem to get good results. I suspect you might have already heard of him, but check out some of the writings and KZbin videos by John Taylor Gatto. His videos on the difference between govt. schooling and a real education are eye-opening.

The NSA consistently uses shady language and veiled omissions when describing their surveillance activities as a public relations strategy. Network and cable news reporters regularly avoid the central issue of the emergence of a state security apparatus instead of questioning the value and issues surrounding secrecy of an agency supported by the tax payer.
