I remember watching the episode in the dark in my livingroom. When he died, I sat there frozen, shaking, with tears welling in my eyes. For the rest of the episode I sat there in that same position and didn't move until well after the episode was over. I loved him as a character a lot. And the entire episode was set up to make us feel like we were there. It was so traumatic that even now when I think about it, I begin to cry. It's sort've weird though, I have yet to seen someone with the same reaction as me. I don't know.

I will confess in being satisfied with how the producers came damn near to the "T" with this moment. I will also admit that this was one of the chapter/pages of the graphic novel I hoped I would see come to life. So good on the team. Otherwise, I was devastated just as bad when I saw it actually happen. Man! I was taken back to the days when I despised Megan.

There will always be three sides to this; The Good: This scene and it's audience's reactions shows how well AMC and the writers got the audience to really care about Glenn; to an extent, more than Rick. The Bad: Glenn's death was what killed the show and caused its decrease in popularity. If you check the numbers, the show's viewership dropped by MILLIONS after the character was killed off. This was because Glen's character throughout the show was one of its appeals and connected the audience. Hence, it was the worst descision (followed by Rick's departure) that the proucers made. (What's ironic was despite the scene's intent to stay true to the comics, Seasons 10 onwards continued without Rick) The Ugly: The extreme violence and graphic nature of the scene made Glenn's death more unbearable to watch. though it was accurate to the comics, the audience's expections were different. After the finale of the prior season, the audience expected Glen to be the one killed by Negan. But Abraham's death in the beginning of the new season took the audience by surprise, and left fans of the comics and show in a short lasting relief.
