No doubt about it...these cars represent the best era of Aussie motor racing. No computers...and no mention of that individuality-killing word "parity". Just real and raw. Great one Glenn.

Nah, I’ve owned both. The 351 is much deeper than a late model 5.0 DOHC. The bore size is just bigger mate!

Here in the USA where most of these cars came from they polish them and sit around in lawn chairs and look at them. Got to love those Ausies for actually racing them.
@gazza94814 жыл бұрын
The only cars from the USA in this race were the Mustangs and the Comaros, the rest are AUSTRALIAN muscle cars, the Holden Monaro, Valiant Charger, GTHO Ford, Holden Torana are Aussie designed and built here. The Alfa and the Cortina were italian and British respectively.So not wanting to start an argument with you William, but MOST of these cars are Aussie Muscle, not USA muscle.

There has been nothing like them. Modern racing is boring. Same engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes. Taking Friday off year 12 to watch the fabulous Coca-Cola Boss 302 Mustang, GTHO's, GTR-XU1's and the 265 Hemi E38 R/T's thunder past the grandstand on open pipes was an education in itself.

The Chargers definitely looked the best on the track, superb styling - closely followed by the Mustangs. But I'm biased . The Falcons Monaro and Torana just don't look as good.

But they were utter garbage to drive. Brakes Garbage.... Suspension Garbage.... Steering. Garbage. Interior Garbage. Survivabillity? One of the worst ever made.... The seats were not even securely fitted, and broke in many accidents. Rose tinted glasses, because these cars were all rubbish

Vintage Racing ???? That is not a VINTAGE RACE CAR, ???????
@GlennEverittMasterofMachines4 жыл бұрын
We generally call it Historic racing here in Aus, and in US many call it Vintage racing. At the end of the day the term Vintage can be applied to any era if it was long ago.

Australia has an extraordinary love affair with 2 very ordinary cars. There are good reasons why nobody bought them, and they are not made any more.
