Ryobi 18V Power Scrubber

Join Omni Garage as we test out a new addition to Ryobi’s range - the Compact Power Scrubber.
This tool features a 15cm interchangeable brush which spins at 210rpm (under no load). It’s extremely lightweight, and the battery housing is waterproof, achieving an IPX7 rating (meaning it’s water resistant to 1m for 30 minutes).

We definitely think it does have a place in detailing, especially on carpets and upholstery. What other RYOBI tools do you have Joe?

@@OmniGarage Mostly lawn and garden. I have a cordless drill, edger, leaf blower, snow thrower, weed eater, battery powered lawn mower, and also a small generator.

There are also 8" brush heads, which with 78% more surface area cut cut your time in half or better.

Afaik this scrubbing machine is the same as used on the Ryobi telescoped scrubber, which makes it a real shame that it's not just the same product with an attachable telescope handle. I will probably buy this one, because the smaller size will fit my intended uses better... However it would be really nice to have the option of just clicking on a longer handle when needed, instead of having to buy another unit that is essentially the exact same product, just on a stick :D

Can you use the soft brush to clean moulds from walls?

We haven’t used the soft brush before. You could try a test spot to see.

Would the blue (weak brush) be ok for washing your car with?

No. Bristle brushes will cause scratching on your paint.

Use a microfibre wash pad/mitt. Similar to the ones we use in all our car washing videos. Go check some of those videos out on how we wash our cars.

Actually you want a slow rotation. You are only cleaning/scrubbing a item, not sanding or polish it. To fast and you could damage the item being cleaned, scratch it or even start to remove the finish.

Once you have a battery and charger you can use it with a bunch of different RYOBI tools.

In case someone else stumbled upon this, there are bundles you can nab, at least here in the US, that comes with a battery. The idea though if that you probably have some of these batteries sitting around if you already own some cordless Ryobi tools.
