I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use kzbin.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.

I have a Ryobi Curb Runner 2017 edger 240v corded unit which has a very similar head and wheel arrangement. It performs extremely well but I had some difficulty getting new blades for it. I've done some chasing around and found the blade you have on the new unit fits on the old head and works well. Since I'm getting older the chasing around for leads, etc and lugging them from shed to yard and back is a bit of a pain so I chased up both Ryobi and also a guy at the local Bunnings I know to find out why they never have it listed in stock. His answer was...easy peazy . He gets the new models in and they disappear almost within hours of entering the store. He is not full of it. .. He hasn't steered me wrong so far so I'm going to get the 18v version as my recent 18v purchases of other yard tools have all had very good results. I bought an 18v whipper for my daughters (much lighter build than I) and they love the fact that the units work well, no fuel issues , don't weigh a ton and are easy to use which are all very good features. The 18v whipper I first bought is great so I felt it would be viable for them...a great present well received, good reports from them as well.

Dude, I was feeling so anxious about your safety right through the video. A few examples here on what not to do but of paramount importance is some suitable eye and leg skin protection for both of you. I’ve seen enough penetrating injuries occur with these machines to know not to be blasé about it. It’s metal on concrete at a few thousand rpm. I do respect you for having a go though, still a helpful review. Peace.

have you tried it along your wood line? if so did it chew up the wood? Cheers
@OmniGarage
@OmniGarage 4 жыл бұрын
No I haven't. I don't really have a wood line to try on. If the blade touches the wood it would take chunks out. The blade is strong enough to dent the concrete edge. If your careful enough and keep the blade away from the wood edge it could work.
