@Blaise 2067 Imagine thinking you have any say in the future of a country that you clearly don't live in. And the fact that you called the monarch "the English monarch" shows that you have little understanding of the country anyway, since it was the Scottish monarch who inherited the throne of England in 1603, not the other way around. Scotland also has a devolved parliament with their own devolved government and thus has a high degree of autonomy from the rest of the UK's "asinine and effeminate (lmao)" policies.

Imagine beeing a marath soldier in 1803, waiting on the hill of Assaye, your artillery is fireing. The brits are somewhere behind the hill. Suddenly, you can hear some strange music. Shrill, loud, and scarring. Beautiful. Then, through the powdersmoke, you can see them. The royal scottish higlanders. Giants. Fixed bayonets, diciplined, and angry. You fire your musket. Nothing happens. Then, the highlanders stop. You can hear their officers, but you dont understand them. The scots present, they aim. They fire. Theyr volley hits your troop. A giant cloud of powdersmoke is now between you and the scots. U are fine, but a lot of men left and right of you are dead or wounded. The wounded are screaming, blood seeps away in the ground. Then u can hear a terrifying scream. The scream of hundereds of men, of angry scots men. You can see them running towards you. You can see these scottish warriors, big and strong, not having any fear. It was at this that moment you knew, you fucked up.

Even when I was 5 years old. I would hear in the parade in my home town. I would hear the Bagpipes play beautiful Scotland the Brave not knowing why it always got my attention. Here I am almost 60. All that time playing in my mind. THANK YOU now I know the name of that beautiful melody.

What it is to be Scottish, or have Scottish Heritage. I live in South Africa and have Scottish Heritage through my maternal great grandfather. I always yearned for the day when I could go and live in Scotland, but it never happened. The biggest mistake of my life. I just love this wonderful recording of Scotland the Brave. The pipes and drums version is the greatest. Keep up this wonderful music. Stanley Howard Gent
