@mrsoisauce9017 Жыл бұрын
@@tts8361 I wouldn’t say they’ve just started cutting motorsport. You have to remember that Maserati was completely detached from racing before the Stellantis merger despite the brand’s strong motorsport heritage and pedigree. Then once Stellantis was formed, Maserati went back to racing, first with Formula E, then with GT2 and potentially GT3 and GT4 in the future with the MC20 and GranTutismo respectively. That’s the thing: Stellantis is looking at each manufacturer and making sense of what each manufacturer is at their core. They understand their brands and what they are supposed to mean. Maserati is racing. Alfa Romeo is also racing. They can’t pull either one out, and if anything, they have more of an incentive to get them more involved because that’s what their brand revolves around. Most other Stellantis manufacturers can live without racing, but Maserati and Alfa Romeo aren’t the same without it. That’s why I believe Alfa Romeo in WEC is at least somewhat likely: it gets their brand more into racing, which is what Alfa Romeo thrives on

@asymsolutions Жыл бұрын
@FormulaJonah idk it depends on their funding and man power. From my understanding (due to the rumor mill so take it how you will), joest was forced to finally size down at the tail end of their involvement with the Mazda progra, before multimatic took it over. I can't imagine their involvement with glick being good for maintaining Financing and staff either after this year.
@asymsolutions Жыл бұрын
@@FormulaJonah would also like to state that my comment on them "finally being forced to" is not a comment on how I feel about Joest, but a statement of fact based on that the team burnt through tons of cash while in between the audi and mazda programs to keep all the staff employed even without sufficient programs. Which does bring mad respect from me. A team is only as good as it's staff, the same with many companies. I hope they do get a comeback and some well earned success.

What a damn shame, I wanted just one solid year where we'd have the upcoming 4 manufacturers joining WEC along with all the current year manufacturers making up a huge grid together. Thanks a lot IMSA...we could have at least kept glickenhaus around, letting them possibly prove themselves and pick up a sponsor in the american series. But you idiots are so set in your stubborn ways of restricting the gtp class and refusing to let it grow. Making all the smaller hypercar manufacturers ineligible due to not making enough road cars... for a PROTOTYPE CLASS. It honestly feels like IMSA has fumbled their prototype classes for like a decade. Unlike the WEC they just will not let the series grow.

@siniyden Жыл бұрын
They abandoned not because of lack of money. If they could compete 3 seasons, they could last more. They have a lack of fan support, too more people have ferrari, porsche, bmw or peugeots and they`ll be their fans, not for unfamous Glickenhaus against toyota anymore. Also fia , when they managed to attract so many factory team, they now play another game. So there is no reason to be the last and pay a minor cent for this.
