Ouch, that's a nightmare, hope You are well! Apparently you are up to riding again and that sounds good. There are more lightweight stuff than what I have out there, but I like it robust rather than just lightweight. Hope you get on the bike again!

Nice campsite that you found. Do you have the coordinates for the place? I drove in the area now last Sunday. Ca. 140 Km in the forests in the Hökensås area. Fantastic dirt roads throughout the area. I ended the day by driving TET from Hjo to Åtorp.
@Braapncamp5 жыл бұрын
Hi, this spot is close to a gravelroad south of Forsvik, there are som windshields/vindskydd close to this area as well. Hökensås is a favorite with it's sandy tracks!
@scottysscandinavia57935 жыл бұрын
If riding through Sweden I'd recommend doing your own route and not bothering with the TET which is mostly tarmac and gravel roads. That short stretch in Tiveden is pretty atypical of the rest of the 'trail'. Even if you can't be bothered to do your own route, I've noticed that Garmin's BaseCamp now has an offroad motorbike mode which actually works quite well in Sweden. Just put in two points and it actually finds some interesting trails between the two points. Also, don't bother with a tent. Sweden is totally covered in shelters (vindskydd) which are excellent and usually in beautiful locations. And given that you're on a bike, you're never more than around 15 mins from food (especially on the TET), so taking a load of food and cooking stuff is unnecessary. I just have a small jet boil for tea. Stop for dinner somewhere around 5 or 6, and pick up some bits for breakfast before heading for a skydd. For booze, I get one of those half size red wine boxes and chuck away the box. Beer cans always seem to leak.

Scotty's Scandinavia Great info for others that like to advride i Scandinavia! I agree on that there are alot more fun trails to ride. Did a 3 day adv rally this weekend with crazy fun trails and riding, minimal packing since we stayed at B&B. However, it's a convenient way for others to just get on it and a beautiful vacation ride. My packing was like 12Kg's and did not bother me at all. Wind shelters are nice, but it's not always you will find one, when it fits you to stop. They could as well be ocupied. Happy trail riding Scotty!

A great work from dedicated outdoor enthusiasts. There are as well open cabins maped. Funny thing is that i put up my tent 1-2 kilometers from a windshield (Vindskydd) at overnnighter two in this trip (another video) i did not find any windshield at the night. But tthe day after, 1 hour south from the spot i found one. Tarp and hammock is also a great alternative in the boreal areas because sometimes i could take time to find an even spot that is good for a tent. I like to vary my options.

@@Braapncamp A 99 SEK hammock from Decathlon is my favourite bit of kit. I never sleep in it overnight, but it's brilliant to have at camp as a seat, or just lying in it and checking the view. I sleep on a lightweight cot with an inflatable mattress on top for the ultimate in comfort for my bad back (caused by my KTM 500 chucking me balls first at a tree a few years ago). Thermorest make them www.thermarest.com/ie/cots , but mine's a Chinese knock off that costs a fraction, it packs down small, and has held up well so far and I get a great night's sleep. So is it easy find High Octane Gasoline in the Middle or Nowhere? One nice thing about my Yamaha FZ-07 I have always ran 87 Octane in it .. I assume Yamaha Tenere 700 will be the same.. yet I like the Low Gas tank in the KTM 79o so much
@Braapncamp5 жыл бұрын
Hi, 95 or 98 octane in the gas pumps here. In part 1 of this trip i could easily get fuel if I just get off the planned forest tracks, but i won't see any pump in my way if not planning. I part 2 of this trip I'm in more rural areas where a miss in planning could get problems. I actually run out of fuel at a trip before in that areas. I have planned a fuel up with not much margins, when I reached the gas station it was closed (forever). Then I knew that I would not make it to another gas station. I rolled of in the direction to reach farmers and buy from them. It did not make that either. Had to push the bike along a road that was traffic'ed but sadly no one stopped. At last I pushed my then 690 in to a farm and he had enough och fuel to the lawn mower that I could buy. So lesson learned that time was to fuel up and plan with better margins in this kind of areas. I have a video in 3 parts of that trip where the goal was to get upp and see the view from Preikestolen in Norway. Beautiful trip! I really like the balance that the low fuel tank gives at the 790. Thanks for commenting and happy trailing Mike!

No problems so far Michael! I keep an eye on different known issues but seems like my dealer have done that as well! Will let you know if something pops up! Thanks for you comment.

Mattias Eriksson yeah I wasn’t being negative I just found they where more sanitary and make you smell pretty 😂😂 and if you are rough camping with no shower you can wipe yourself all over. Happy trails 👍🏻
